I spent some time Friday chatting with experienced football writer and all-around “friend of the program” Pat Yasinskas. The ESPN.com NFC South Blogger tries to hit each team in the offseason and will attend two days of Falcons mini camp.

Besides calling our Flowery Branch home the “nicest practice facility in the NFC South,” Yaskinsas shared his thoughts on the roster and Atlanta’s opponent.

For starters, he said a young Carolina team ”looked a little chaotic” at mini camp last weekend.
“(Team) hit the field running; it shows where they’re at in what Mike Smith calls ‘the process.’”
Rookies Kerry Meier and Dominique Franks caught Yasinskas’ eye in the first practice.
Franks could also get a look as a return man — kickoffs and punts.
Pass rush may get better with a better secondary — coverage creates time to get to the quarterback.
