As you may have heard, the NFL made a big hullabaloo about the release of their 2012 regular season game schedule. If you're not a 13 year old girl who was just learned about football for the first time, not much of this is a surprise to you. You already knew that the team would play the Lions, Packers, and Bears twice (just not when exactly, but whatever, six loses already), you probably could have figured out the team was also playing the NFC West this year, and - if you were really smart - figure out which games were home and away. Likewise, the AFC South rotates to our division again this year, and we pick up the final two games against Washington and Tampa Bay. COOL. Finding out what teams the Vikings play isn't the most exciting part about the schedule being released, though. The real excitement comes in figuring out your plans - TO THE HOUR - for each game weekend, based on WHEN the teams play. Specifically, how many times am I going to have to write a ****** game rec...

Vikings plan on drafting Kalil, Claiborne or Blackmon 3rd overall

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Speilman indicated that they’ll be choosing between three prospects when it comes down to who they’ll draft with the 3rd overall pick in next week’s draft. Those players are USC left tackle Matt Kalil, LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne and Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon. “What you’re saying (to the staff) is, ‘All these...

Report: Vikings interested in Alshon Jeffery

According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com, the Minnesota Vikings are believed to have expressed a high level of interest in South Carolina receiver Alshon Jeffery.  There’s a good chance he could fall to the second round, and the Vikings could snatch him up. Jeffery could potentially be the kind of player the Vikings need to replace Sidney Rice who they lost last offseason...

Minnesota Vikings DE, Jared Allen, “Shocked” by the Gregg Williams Audio Clip

Minnesota Vikings defensive end/crazy person, Jared Allen, says he was shocked by the Gregg Williams audio clip that was released a few weeks ago. You know, the one where Williams, then defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, talked to his players about “killing the ******* head,” taking out knees and giving concussions to players, by name. Here’s the clip (NSFW)...

McNabb puts himself in the Hall of Fame

Since he's been a man without a team Donovan McNabb has come off as cocky and bitter in recent interviews. He still thinks he should be on an NFL roster and thinks it's Mike Shanahan's fault that he failed in Washington. Furthermore he thinks if the Redskins draft Robert Griffin III that Griffin also will fail in Washington. He went on to say that Shanahan hasn't...

Vikings Reeling After Legislature Rejects Stadium Bill

The Vikings stadium bill was voted down by a vote of 9-6 in the House Government Operations committee Monday. The bill, which died in the same committee that killed another stadium bill in 2010, was heavily amended and does not pass out of committee. Vikings VP Lester Bagley is at a loss on what to do next: "It's been 10-plus years, and a Vikings stadium bill has never seen...

Minnesota facing 'serious consequences?'

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has warned the state of Minnesota of "serious consequences" if legislators cannot pass a bill this year to fund a new stadium for the Vikings. According to NFL.com, Goodell relayed his concerns to Governor Mark Dayton Wednesday, and the two are set to speak again Thursday, joined by Steelers president Art Rooney II, chairman of the NFL stadium...

Prosecutors recently added the charge...

Don Ginger Putting The Squeeze On Governors

For a while there was progress being made on the Vikings getting a new stadium and it seemed like the team might actually not relocate to Los Angeles. Then, in true Vikings fashion, everything broke down and now the market might be doomed again. A Minnesota House committee on Monday voted down the proposal for a new stadium. For now, the Vikes will continue to play in the occasionally...

Vikings Narrow Down Options For Third Overall Pick

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press Thursday that the Vikings are only considering three players to select at the No. 3 position in the draft: tackle Matt Kalil, cornerback Morris Claiborne, and wide receiver Justin Blackmon (Apparently Spielman doesn't agree with NFL Network's Mike Mayock, who doesn't believe Blackmon belongs...

This Just In: The 2012 Vikings Will Suck

Guys, I have some bad news for you; There aren't many people looking forward to the 2012 Minnesota Vikings. After the NFL schedule was released this week, every crappy blog on the internet (including this one! *does jig*) wanted to recap a schedule that had little to no meaning at this point in the year. This includes CBSSports.com's "Eye on the NFL" blog, which...

What Makes a HOF Caliber QB? Former Eagle Donovan McNabb Has Some Ideas.

What makes a Hall of Fame caliber quarterback? Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb has some ideas. In yet another interview that has caused controversy, this time on Barfly on FOX Sports, McNabb was asked if he saw himself as a HOF worthy quarterback. A good question, but a tricky one to answer. Even if you are one of the very rare players who is a shoe-in for the Hall, is...

Donovan McNabb Believes That Donovan McNabb Is A Hall Of Famer

Donovan McNabb is probably never going to play in the NFL again, unless he’s willing to take a job as a backup. Even then, he’ll probably still complain about being a backup and demand that he be allowed to compete for the starting job. At least that’s what I assume is the thought process of any GM looking for a competent veteran, because otherwise he’d be a Miami Dolphin...
