The Minnesota Vikings were expected to have another long and disappointing year. Christian Ponder had much to prove to his critics. Adrian Peterson was recovering from a torn ACL and had several other question marks heading into the season. But, the Vikings proved all their critics wrong by going 10-6 and earning a Wild Card berth. Adrian Peterson was nine yards shy of breaking the single season rushing record by rushing for 2,097 yards. He won the MVP and is clearly the best running back in the NFL. He carried this team on his back and they went as far as he could take them.

Report: Peterson expected to heal on time

Adrian Peterson returned from major knee surgery in less than a year, so sports hernia surgery should be no problem for the NFL's MVP, right? Exactly, according to Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman. Spielman told reporters Thursday at the Scouting Combine that Peterson is expected to be ready when Minnesota starts its offseason program later this offseason. "...

So Just How Good Was Percy Harvin in 2012?

It may be hard for you to remember, but Percy Harvin once played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2012. It's true. He actually was doing pretty super, as well. He was being talked about heavily as an early MVP candidate in the NFL (sorry dude, it ended up going to Adrian Peterson instead!), and he was key in helping a young team jump out to an early, and surprising, 5-4 record. It...

Frazier backs Ponder, wants battle for No. 2

Leslie Frazier is hoping the Minnesota Vikings have more competition at quarterback next season -- backup quarterback, that is. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Friday, Frazier touched on a variety of tops regarding his team, but he made clear that Christian Ponder, coming off his first full season as the starter, will be unchallenged in the No. 1 role. "...

Vikings sticking to plan to keep Harvin

It didn't take long for the national media to try to wrangle an answer from Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman on Thursday regarding receiver Percy Harvin. It took less time for Spielman to reiterate Minnesota's position on its talented but temperamental receiver: "We have no intent to trade Percy Harvin." They were the same words uttered by Spielman...

For teams who had dreams of acquiring Percy Harvin for 10 cents on the dollar, think again.
