The Packers are hoping to see this familiar scene on Sunday versus the Vikings The Minnesota Vikings visit Lambeau Field and face the Green Bay Packers for just the first time this season.  The two teams will square off again in week 17 in Minnesota.  Both teams are coming off of a big loss and are fighting to keep postseason hopes alive. The Packers were handed their worst loss in years at the hands of the New York football Giants while the Vikings were soundly defeated by the first-place Chicago Bears.  Both teams will likely be fired up and looking to get back on track.  At least they should be in a divisional game this late in the season. Let’s take a look at the key matchups that will manifest themselves this Sunday. Vikings Defensive Line vs. Packers Offensive Line In the number one slot is the matchup most critical to Green Bay’s success this week.  As is likely to be the case for the rest of this season, the Packers have to find a way to protect Aaron Rodgers and start winni...

Quick hits: Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings

Packers looking for ways to keep Rodgers upright

For a guy who does his best work in the air, Aaron Rodgers is spending way too much time on the ground. The reigning NFL MVP has been sacked 37 times, more than any other quarterback in the league. He's taken more hits in the first 11 games than he did all of last season (36 sacks), and is on pace to topple the career-high 50 sacks he took in 2009. And the Green Bay Packers...

Aaron Rodgers Talks Mustaches

Packers looking to keep Rodgers upright

The Packers continue to try to find ways to protect Aaron Rodgers, with mixed results. Enter Jared Allen and the Vikings.

Packing the Stats: Packers First Down Failures

One thing I noticed while watching the Green Bay Packers humiliating loss to the New York Giants was their inability to put themselves in favorable down-and-distance situations. In fact, of the 54 offensive downs that Aaron Rodgers was on the field for, 40 of them were at or over ten yards to convert. Three were in the moderate-long range (7-9 yds.), eight were in the moderate-short...

Packers 23, Vikings 14: Game Balls and Lame Calls

Packers Use Balancing Act to Beat Vikings

Aaron Rodgers was aided by a good running game while the Vikings had nothing but Adrian Peterson. With the Packers pitching a second-half shutout, they beat the Vikings 23-14 and stayed right in the heart of the playoff race.

Barclay Provides Lift and Options for O-Line

Not only was rookie free agent Don Barclay not a liability when he replaced T.J. Lang at right tackle, his rock-solid performance helped get Green Bay’s running game jump-started and kept quarterback Aaron Rodgers mostly upright.

Packers atop division after 23-14 win over Vikes

The Green Bay Packers are back atop the NFC North, and they have a very unlikely source to thank. Minutes after the Packers wrapped up their 23-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon, Seattle beat Chicago in overtime to drop the Bears back into a tie with Green Bay for the division lead. Yes, that would be the same Seattle team that stole a win from the Packers...

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers: Week 13 NFL Pick

Minnesota Vikings (6-5) at Green Bay Packers (7-4) Aaron Rodgers is normally deadly off a loss, going 14-9 ATS in that situation in his career, including 10-4 ATS since 2009, which excludes 2008, his first year as a starter. However, as favorites of a touchdown or more, he’s just 4-3 ATS in that situation in his career. Besides, I still think the Packers are an overrated bunch...
