The Minnesota Vikings wrapped up their preseason last night with a loss to the Houston Texans 28-24  at Reliant Stadium.  The Vikings finished 1-3 as they enter the regular season.

The Vikings did not start any of their regulars as Joe Webb started the game as he passed 4/7 for 47 yards.  Webb was in for two drives and set them up for two field goals.  Vikings' running back, Jordan Todman, ran for 114 yards on ten attempts as he fights for one of the last running back positions on the team.

The Vikings' record does not really matter in the preseason, but there are a few things that they do need to work on.  Their offense has been atrocious at times as they found it difficult to get into the end zone through out the first three games.  This fourth game obviously does not matter because none of the starters were in, and this was the game the offense was at it's best.

It will be interesting to see which quarterback they hold onto as well.  Both Sage Rosenfels and McLeod Bethel-Thompson played decent enough to stay as a third string quarterback.  Bethel-Thompson was 15-29 for 193 yards and a touchdown and a pick while Rosenfels threw 7/11 for 111 yards and a touchdown.  Chances are neither of these guys will see any action, but with how injury prone Christian Ponder was last year and with how much Webb runs, there is a slight chance that one of these two might have to make an appearance.

It will be interesting to see how the Vikings fare at the beginning of the season as they play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 9.  Hopefully all the starters will be rested and ready to go as they begin their 2012 campaign.
