HOUSTON (AP) -- Minnesota's Blair Walsh kicked a 56-yard field goal against the Houston Texans to set an NFL record with nine field goals of 50 yards or longer this season. The rookie kicker's field goal put the Vikings up 10-3 in the second quarter on Sunday. The record was held by two players who had eight in a season. Jason Hanson of Detroit did it in 2008 and Morten Andersen had eight in 1995 with Atlanta. Walsh is 9 for 9 on field goals of 50 yards or longer this season. The 56-yard kick also ties a Vikings record for longest field goal. Paul Edinger had a 56-yarder in 2005.

Toronto Star Columnist Cathal Kelly takes a misguided shot at Adrian Peterson as the Vikings attempt to win their way into the playoffs

With an article that feels like it was written before the game had kicked off Kelly, a sports columnist for the Toronto Star issued a scathing column with the basic premise that the Vikings were failing this season because they were relying too heavily on Adrian Peterson. The piece fails to take into account where the Vikings would be without Peterson this season (certainly not facing...
