Scrapple:
A handful of American colleges are launching a professional football league, stocked with players who couldn't quite make the NFL cut but who are required to have a college degree. As this blogger points out, this makes the move seem like "a pre-emptive strike *against* any potential future minor league system -- which might threaten the existence of college football (see minor league baseball/college baseball)." College sports is getting more nefarious by the day.
