Cleveland Browns cut nine players on Sunday. Some may surprise you.

On September 26th just days after their loss to the Eagles the Cleveland Browns made their first list of cuts including nine players. Browns Preseason Game #3: Winners and Losers

Who caught your eye? Did someone stand out? Who blew it? That’s what were interested in this morning. Winners and losers. Kind of the opposite of last week. We could name an awful lot of losers from this past weekend. But let’s start with the positives- WINNER: Josh Gordon. Three catches for 50 yards, and a highlight reel play over Nnamdi Asomugha. Well, highlight reel for the...

The Real Reason Browns Q.B. Colt McCoy Plays Better Than Brandon Weeden McCoy’s Finally Healthy

How many of you Browns fans that have been calling for Colt McCoy’s head knew that Colt McCoy had a injury to his throwing arm? That’s right people, Colt McCoy’s arm strength really is better this season, it’s not a mirage. Colt McCoy suffered an injury in his last college football game. McCoy was injured on the fifth snap of No. 2 Texas’ game against No. 1 Alabama. He...

Browns' Weeden working on ball security

Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden knows he needs to get a grip. Weeden has already fumbled three times during the exhibition season, losing the ball twice and costing Cleveland points with his turnovers. In Friday's 27-10 loss to Philadelphia, Weeden fumbled twice in the first quarter. The first one wasn't his fault as his protection broke down on a botched screen...

Cleveland Brown’s Pat Shurmur: A tale of two coaches

Pat Shurmur walked into quite the situation when being hand-picked by team president Mike Holmgren to coach the Cleveland Browns prior to the 2011 season. Since their return to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have been through six head coaches in that 13 year time period with very little success. Every single move Shurmur made would be critiqued to an almost unnecessary degree by media...

Montario Hardesty Struggles vs. Eagles

Browns running back Montario Hardesty started in place of Trent Richardson (knee) again this week, but didn't look good at all and may have lost his spot as the No. 2 guy. He rushed for 12 yards on eight carries vs. Philadelphia, and more importantly, fumbled for the second week in a row.Fantasy Spin:At this point we are not sure whether Hardesty or Brandon Jackson is the correct...

While We’re Waiting: Browns vs. Eagles Recaps Galore

Naturally, it was all a smokescreen. Right? “Of interest mainly to fans who endure paying full price for half value, the Browns’ exhibition home opener Friday against Philadelphia was one in which neither team wanted to show much. That was to avoid tipping off their wilier designs before the regular-season opener between the teams in 16 days. The Browns’ starters, if nothing...

Browns RB Montario Hardesty Out At Practice, Brandon Jackson Works With First Team

Browns running back Montario Hardesty did not participate in team drills today, and Brandon Jackson took his place with the first-team offense. Hardesty worked in individual drills but wore a black sleeve on his lower right leg as he stood and watched team sessions. Still, Hardesty insisted he’s healthy. He did not play in six games last season as he dealt with a torn muscle...

Browns Waive DE Marcus Benard, Put NT Phil Taylor On PUP List

Marcus Benard’s misfortune on and off the field continued Monday as the Browns placed him on the waived/injured list. The defensive lineman, who suffered a dislocated left elbow on Friday and sustained multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident last fall, was one of three players the Browns designated as waived/injured as they reduced their roster to 75 players. Not surprisingly...

The Philadelphia Eagles Defense Totally Disrupts The Browns Offense Brandon Graham is a beast

The Eagles went into Cleveland and had to be surprised when they saw Browns rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden march his Browns down to the 2 yard line with a combination of three great pass plays and the Browns running game. Then the Eagles defense switched gears. They started to apply the pressure that would disrupt Weeden and his Browns from their game plan. The Eagles defense...
