With everything going right in the Seahawks world going into Sunday’s divisional matchup with St. Louis, the Hawks sure picked a bad time to let their true colors show.
Now the world can really see that the win the previous week was a fluke, and we are the the laughing stock of the NFL community.
Sure, there are worse teams that us, but to ride high with the momentum of a win on national TV, and then to lose to the Rams with no offense to show for it is just embarrassing.
Maybe Golden Tate should have kept his mouth shut about the shove in the back, and he wouldn’t have cursed us.
Better yet, maybe Golden Tate should just worry about catching balls with more regularity instead of feeding the media monster.
Oh well. If any there was a time to capitalize on momentum, it was Sunday. Now the Seahawks will face a very tough three week stretch at 2-2, instead of 3-1.
With that, I give you my top 10!
10: More controversy?With the offense being as stagnant as that pail of rain water by your back porch, maybe it is time to call on the off-season free agent signee Matt Flynn.
Flynn deserves a shot right now, like this week, before this gets out of hand.
9: Wilson gets playedHeading into Sunday’s game, Russell Wilson had thrown only 1 interception. Not too bad for a rookie heading into the 4th game of his career, right?
Wrong. Wilson not only tied his season mark, but doubled it first, before tripling it to end his day.
Another reason to give Flynn a shot.
It’s time to give the rookie a seat, and let Matt Flynn take over the helm
8: Don’t be stubborn PeteI hate admitting I am wrong, and I really have nobody to answer to. I can only imagine what Pete Carroll must be thinking as this weeks practices were kicked off.
To admit fault in front of a national media will be devastating to the super ego of our man in charge, but if he doesn’t, this could really blow up in his face.
Time to sit Wilson Pete!
7: Major let downOkay, without trying to sound like a broken record, I will leave the Russell Wilson – Matt Flynn issue alone for the time being.
Besides losing a game we should have won, the biggest let down to me was the fake field goal that we bit on.
How can our defense be so naive? Better yet, how could they allow Danny Amendola to get so wide open in the corner of the end zone?
This still baffles me.
6: Short lived returnJames Carpenter finally made his 2012 debut.
I don’t think he even stuck around long enough to break a sweat before he left with injury again.
Another victim of the 1st round blues for the Seahawks.
5: Back to WilsonThe official ruling for the struggles of Russell Wilson according to the Seahawks team page is “growing pains.”
They then back that claim up with evidence that he has outperformed franchise ”greats” during their first 4 games.
And this is why this franchise sucked for so many years!
Once again, Marshawn Lynch is the main source of offense for the Seahawks this season
4: Yin and YangIt’s a very strange predicament the Hawks are in right now.
They rank dead last in pass offense, yet Marshawn Lynch has been tearing it up so far this season.
Maybe Wilson needs to think more as a runner first type of QB.
Hell, if Flynn isn’t going to be given a shot, anything will be better than the way Wilson has been running this offense so far.
3: Backs against the wallWhen we all saw the 2012 Seahawks schedule, we knew that the first half was going to be tough.
But now sitting at 2-2, the next 4 weeks are looking more like impossible, than just merely tough.
The game this week against Carolina is a must win for the Hawks if there ever was a must win game.
If we can come home at 3-2 to face New England, it will be a lot better high than coming into face them at 2-3.
2: Defense can’t get it doneThere has got to be something said about the defense not giving up a touchdown on Sunday. To hold St. Louis to all those FG tries is amazing.
Now only if we had an offense of our own, we may have won this one.
4th quarter comebacks are not Wilson’s thing apparently.
1: Lynch time in the LouIf you only saw the opening Seahawks drive, you would have thought that this game was out of control early on.
But for an offensive fan of the game, that was all you got.
Once again Marshawn Lynch was a beast in the backfield, going for over 100 yards and a TD on the day. He is quietly averaging over a 100 yards per game.
That’s it for this week folks.
It’s NOT an early start next week as we travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers. We actually get a late game on the East coast.
It’s win, or die time Hawks fans.
