Man the Steelers really pushed my "keep calm" mantra to the limit, didn't they? Even with Kansas CIty jumping to an early 10-point lead, they didn't do much to put the game away. And that included getting into the end zone 2 more times, only on a holding-negated pass and a nonsense tuck rule "fumble" return. Ben and Mike Wallace hooked up on an incredible TD and Byron Leftwich didn't mess up the game like Matt Cassel did. 16-13 Steelers, OT. As of about 1:30 AM this morning (right now when I'm writing this), Ben's shoulder is separated. I have no idea what that does for his status during the coming Ravens-Browns-Ravens gauntlet. This could be an interesting week. Ben's Shoulder: Ben's shoulder DID connect on that unreal Mike Wallace TD, so credit where credit is due. Only now there's no way of knowing how healthy Ben's shoulder will be in the coming days/weeks. Yikes. 2 of 5 motorcycle helmets for Ben's shoulder. Byr...

Mike Wallace makes between-the-legs touchdown catch (Video)

Last night, the Pittsburgh Steelers sneaked past the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime to improve their record to 6-3 on the season. In the second quarter of the game, the Chiefs lead by the score of 10-3 until Pittsburgh wide receiver Mike Wallace hauled in the below touchdown pass while covered by two Chiefs defenders. Watch as it deflects off his left hand and right into his...

Ben Roethlisberger out against Ravens; Leftwich to start

Injuries in key division games can deep-six a football team. There is no bigger set of division games than the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Baltimore Ravens. These are two teams that hate each other and look forward to beating each other bloody twice a year, every year. Please Click Here To Read This Story

Mike Wallace Makes Insane One-Handed, Between-Legs Catch in Chiefs-Steelers Matchup (Animation)

When the ball left Ben Roethlisberger‘s hand, there was no doubt the ball was traveling out of bounds for an incompletion — but then Mike Wallace happened. The Steelers’ wide receiver made an incredible one-handed grab that he was able to cradle between his legs to keep from hitting the ground. The play was called a touchdown on the field, and was held up after an official...

Week 10: The Pittsburgh Steelers vs The Kansas City Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers are back to being considered one of the potential top teams in the AFC when all is said and done after a big win over the New York Giants last week. That win has put the Steelers at 5-3 on the season and they remain a game behind the AFC North leading Baltimore Ravens. A win tonight against the Chiefs would mean the division would be up for grabs next week...

Chiefs Will Start Matt Cassel Against Cincinnati

Adam Teicher reports that the Kansas City Chiefs will start Matt Cassel against the Bengals this weekend. Head coach Romeo Crennel mentioned that Brady Quinn still hasn’t been cleared by doctors, despite the fact that Quinn, himself, told reporters that he was in fact medically cleared. In the big picture, it probably doesn’t matter who will be under center for the Chiefs...

Cassel to start at QB for Chiefs vs Bengals

Matt Cassel will start at quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday against Cincinnati because Brady Quinn still has not been cleared to play following a concussion. Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said that Quinn feels better and that he could be cleared by the end of the week, but he couldn't take the chance that he wouldn't be ready for the Bengals. As a result, Cassel...

Steelers Roethlisberger right shoulder injury, Ryan Clark concussion

The Steelers win over the Chiefs on Monday Night Football came a huge price, at least potentially as both Ben Roethlisberger and Ryan Clark left the game and did not return. For Ben, he left after getting sandwiched and being thrown to the ground on his right shoulder. After going to the sidelines for a quick evaluation by Steelers trainers he jogged off to the locker room and did...

Roethlisberger Officially Out for Sunday’s Game; Steelers Need Leftwich to Come up Big

The last time the Steelers faced the Kansas City Chiefs and went to overtime was in 2009. Ben Roethlisberger was injured during that game and the following week the Steelers had to start their back-up quarterback on Sunday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens, sound familiar? In 2009 Dennis Dixon, now on the Ravens practice squad, made his first career start for the Steelers...

Chiefs penalized for excessive celebration on touchdown that didn’t count

The 1-7 Kansas City Chiefs were penalized in their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night for excessive celebration on a touchdown that didn’t end up counting. I didn’t even know that was possible. The Steelers had a third-and-seven play from their 26 during the third quarter when backup quarterback Byron Leftwich had the ball knocked out of his hand. Linebacker...

Step up: 5 Steelers who need to amp their game

In the wake of Pittsburgh Steelers fans collective gasp after Ben Roethlisberger left with an unknown shoulder injury in the 3rd quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs, there will be a lot of pressure on both sides of the ball to compensate for No. 7’s absence going into the latter half of the season. Arguably having an MVP-quality season before the injury, Roethlisberger’s...

Steelers Versus Chiefs Game Rewind – Second Half Notes

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 Monday night and below are my second half notes from the game. Here are my first half notes if you missed them. The Steelers get the second half kickoff and Ben Roethlisberger gets away with a forced first down pass to the left sideline to Mike Wallace, who is bracketed by cornerback Javier Arenas underneath and safety...

Fantasy SPIN on Steelers’ Backfield…

Rashard Mendenhall may finally be ready to return. He's the big name with the largest paycheck and most proven history so it stands to reason he'll get a chance to reclaim the starting gig in light of the other rushers struggling. Against the Chiefs on Monday night Jonathan Dwyer (19/56) and Isaac Redman (8/21) couldn't get anything going. The ground game will be critical...

Steelers Winners And Losers – Week 10 – Chiefs

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Kansas City Chiefs 16-13 in overtime Monday night at Heinz Field to move to 6-3 on the season. It certainly wasn't a pretty win against an ugly team and below are the players, or group of players, that I thought had winning and losing performances in the game. Trust me when I say that the losers list could certainly be a little longer if...
