San Diego Chargers
Falcons safety William Moore is off to a great start this season. He has stepped forward to be the enforcer the Falcons' much-maligned secondary has been looking for under head coach Mike Smith. He set the tone against the Peyton Manning and the Broncos and will be called on to do the same against Philip Rivers and the San Diego Chargers. In addition to the tone-setting interception, Moore has been delivering some bone rattling hits and playing with the speed and tenacity that led to his selection in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft. With Moore marauding on the back end of the defense and coming up strong in run support, four of the Broncos' first five possessions turned into three interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Falcons. The defensive unit, under the direction of defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, has created seven turnovers in two games. The Falcons defense was 20th in the NFL against the past last season, allowing 236.6 yards passing per gam...

Atlanta, GA. When the Atlanta Falcons selected Matt Ryan with the 3rd overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, it was obvious that he was going to be given every chance to be their QB and leader for the next decade or so. He immediately gave Falcons fans hope, winning offensive rookie of the year and leading Atlanta to an 11-5 record. In fact, in his four years as starting QB for the...
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Falcons running back Michael Turner apologized on Wednesday for his arrest one day earlier on suspicion of DUI.
Id like to apologize to (owner) Mr. (Arthur) Blank, (general manager) Thomas Dimitroff, (head coach) Mike Smith, the whole Falcons organization out there and the fans for the situation Im in right now, Turner said. Its a bad decision on my part. I...
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith on Tuesday said he has spoken to starting running back Michael Turner about the players arrest on suspicion of DUI earlier in the day and expressed to Turner his disappointment.
Tuesday is a mandated off day for the players under the NFLs collective-bargaining agreement, and Smith did not say whether he met in person with...
Atlanta's offensive line is keeping Matt Ryan on his feet.
That's a big reason the Falcons are 2-0.
Ryan has been sacked only twice. He has five touchdown passes with no interceptions as the Falcons prepare to play San Diego, another 2-0 team, on Sunday.
Coach Mike Smith challenged the offensive line in the offseason, saying starting jobs were open for competition.
Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner was arrested early Tuesday morning following his team’s game on Monday night against the Denver Broncos. Turner was arrested for speeding and DUI. On Wednesday, Turner spoke with reporters and apologized for his arrest and said that expects to play this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
“I shouldn’t have been in this situation to begin...

I wasn’t that impressed with the Falcons on Monday Night. I felt like they should have been up 20 given how badly the Broncos started and how much they turned the ball over, but they didn’t capitalize like they should have. They lost the yardage total battle and the yards per play battle and if it wasn’t for those 4 turnovers, they probably would...
The opening quarter of the Monday night Falcons/Broncos game was complete euphoria for Falcons fans. Under Mike Nolan's leadership, the Falcons defense made Peyton Manning look like a rookie. Manning's first three drives all ended with interceptions. The next three ended in two punts and a fumble. It wasn't until the end of the half that the Broncos were able to put together...
In a Week 3 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and San Diego Chargers, we find ourselves in a battle between two undefeated teams. The Falcons are looking to walk out of Qualcomm with a win, while the Chargers look to get their second consecutive home win of the season. The play of both teams thus far has been surprising. Each team has found ways to maximize their talented rosters...
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. Its been a rough start to the season for two of the most productive running backs in the NFL over the last five seasons, Atlantas Michael Turner and Tennessees Chris Johnson.
Between 2008 and 2011, no running gained more rushing yards than Johnsons 5,645 a crown, at this rate, that hell have trouble keeping on his head when the 2012 season has ended.
Atlanta Falcons (2-0) at San Diego Chargers (2-0)
The Chargers are one of just six 2-0 teams left in the NFL. Have they conquered their early season woes? They certainly look good. They’ve used 7 of their last 8 picks in the first 3 rounds on defensive players and it seems to have paid off while veterans like Quentin Jammer and Shaun Phillips seem to be holding things together...
