Found November 19, 2007 on Delusions of Brown and Orange:
Running Backs:another running back that would fit really well in to the browns offense. big, tough kid with an exceptional burst through or off the line.I'm not COMPARING him to peterson but he is built like him and his style is about the same as well.He was the primary back in a 4 man rotation and was the better of all of them. He was shredding through a very good Auburn defense and had Nebraska not completely abandoned their running game I honestly think Jackson could have been a difference in the Huskers loss to Auburn. Auburns Running Game:I remember questions about Auburn being able to replace Carnell williams and Ronnie Brown and I think Kenny Irons has more than filled those shoes. Irons in my book is almost better because even though the tigers have that Stewart kid they arent as good a tandem as brown and williams were. Irons has pretty much carried the rushing offense all year and last.Defense:Auburns two defensive tackles have been an integral part of the tigers defense all season. During the Cotton bowl game against Nebraska they were absolutely destroying the huskers interior line. Eventually it got to the point that both were being double teamed with the rb's and fb's having to pick up a DE or LB. The tigers were rotating in a guy named Greg Smith who is 6'1 340, a textbook 3-4 Nose Tackle. The two others were Pat sims and Josh Thompson. Thompson is a 6'0 295 Junior and while Sims is only a sophomore, he lists at 6'4 305 and has another year to only get better and is already ridiculously explosive. I'll be following all three of these guys through this years draft as well as next years depending on if they stay in school. Maybe the sheer size of SEC players is why this conference is so good. Belichick and Parcells seem to love to draft from the SEC and that conference seems to produce an abundance of " 3-4 type" players. Quentin Groves:Groves is a defensive end out of Auburn who lists at 6'3 254. The prototypical 'tweener' who would fit very well into Crennels defense as an OLB. Groves shows great explosion off the line and possesses raw skill that allows him to shed blocks or simply bullrush an offensive lineman. He's in the same league as Woodley and Adams and would be the wise pick if the other two are off the board. Adam Carriker:Arguably the huskers best defensive NFL prospect and possibly the best DE in the entire Big-12 conference. A physical speciman who stands at 6'6 290 and be a welcomed addition the browns front 3. Carriker is very intelligent and rarely ever over pursues his target. My projection is middle 2nd, early 3rd round.
