Jets OLB Aaron Maybin has been a spot player for New York thus far this season getting about 10-12 plays a game. But according to Jets head coach Rex Ryan his snap count could be increasing this week. “Yeah that’s a real possibility because Buffalo does spread you out,” said Ryan. ”But it’s not like the old spread where you throw out of it. Buffalo spreads you out to run it as well. We understand what their philosophy is and we’ll adjust accordingly.” It sounds like Ryan is a bit conflicted in terms of whether to play a heavier lineup to defend the run, which would take Maybin off the field, or play a quicker lineup to keep up with Buffalo’s array of receiving threats, which would put Maybin on the field. Either way Ryan likes what they’ve gotten out of Maybin.  “I think what everybody sees is a guy that has some pass rush ability, and that’s why we picked him up,” Ryan said. ”He flashed that in the preseason. 5 reasons to hate the New York Jets

5) Rex Ryan: I don't hate Rex Ryan as much as a lot of people do. Yes, he's a loudmouth, but honestly, I kind of find that refreshing. However, he's a little too much sometimes. The things that come out of his mouth about declaring Super Bowl titles multiple times come off as being the Boy who cries wolf too often . How about when he dresses up for press conferences...

Rex references '64 Bills

Jets coach Rex Ryan went way back today in complimenting the Bills' defensive front, particularly rookie defensive lineman Marcell Dareus. Said Ryan: "Dareus reminds me ... the way he's playing and the way Big Wiggle as I used to call him is playing - Dwan Edwards - they remind me of Ron McDole and Tom Sestak, the No. 70 that used to play in the AFL days." Three Things: Buffalo Bills

Its strange to write about the Jets heading to lovely Western New York trying to unseat the 1st place Bills. I don’t think words like that have been laid to paper in well over a decade. But nonetheless, the Jets head to Ralph Wilson stadium to try and take down the 5-2 Bills, while rooting for the cross-town Giants to hand the 5-2 Patriots their second loss in as many weeks. With...

Coughlin, Belichick to meet again

There may not be a coach Bill Belichick dislikes more than Rex Ryan, a guy who regularly takes shots at the Patriots' coach in his unceasing quest to beat his AFC East counterpart.
