The Chargers are set to square off against division rival Kansas CIty Chiefs for the second time this season . The Chargers will be looking to stop the three game slide that they've fallen into.  The key to ending this slide is to finally put up some offense. The Chargers have failed to put up a touchdown in the last six quarters of play and they are in desperate need of a spark.  Unfortunately, they will be doing it with far less talent than usual. They will most likely be without the help of both Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal with their respective hamstring injuries.  This means that the Chargers will need to be able to get things done on the ground. Mathews will need to step up to the plate today, protect the ball and make some explosive plays. If this offense cannot get going, the 'Fire Norv' campaign will again reach it's new peak. Many fans are looking for a mid-season coaching switch.  Whether or not the Spanos family has considered this is all speculation. But, nobody could argue that Turners seat is getting hotter with every turnover and missed opportunity.  Defensively, the focus will be almost entirely based on containing Jamaal Charles. The Bolts were able to contain Charles at their last meeting, but after only taking five carries in the Chiefs matchup against the Oakland Raiders, he will be hungry to perform better.  Look for the Bolts to sit back and watch the Jamaal Charles cut back play tonight. It's one of the ways that Charles can really burn defenses and they won't be looking to give up any big plays.  If the Chargers are able to pull game off, they'll improve to a record of 4-4 with a nasty stint in the schedule coming up. Still not too late for the Bolts but needless to say, this game will be vital.  Tune into the broadcast of Thursday Night Football on NFL Network tonight.  Be sure to check out other great articles at Sports Media 101. var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
