After listening to Coach Jim Zorn discuss the team's numerous injuries during his news conference Monday at Redskins Park, I'm beginning to wonder whether the Redskins will be able to practice properly if they lose anyone else. Zorn said the Redskins plan to sign a running back and possibly add another safety (likely a core special-teams player) because top back Clinton Portis (concussion) could be sidelined indefinitely and strong safety Chris Horton (toe) might go on the season-ending injured-reserve list. But signing guys off the street or from another team's practice squad in Week 10 is not the same thing as having the people who have gone through your offseason program, training camp and preseason. And the thing is, if free agents still are available at this point of the season, they're still available for a reason.
