Both wide receiver Marcus Smith and quarterback John Beck are scheduled to undergo magnetic resonance imaging exams Friday after suffering what could be serious injuries in the Ravens’ 23-0 defeat of the Washington Redskins at M&T Bank Stadium Thursday night.
Smith came up limping after tackling Washington’s Marcus Mason on a punt return in the second quarter. Smith said he might have torn the anterior cruciate ligament or the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
"I was making a tackle and my knee got caught," said Smith, who was using crutches after the game. "I heard it kind of pop and felt it kind of separate. I sat down and the pain kind of went away, but they wanted to bring me in for observation just to check it."
Smith admitted to being frustrated with the setback at the beginning of his second year in the NFL.
