The Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League reportedly have an offer on the table for current Jets’ QB Tim Tebow if he's unable to find interest from an NFL team. Predators’ owner Brett Bouchy pointed to the development of Kurt Warner as an example of why the Arena would be a good option for him at this point in his career. “Tim would certainly want to first exhaust his opportunities in the NFL, but we’d love to have him,” Bouchy told the Orlando Sentinel. “I think he would definitely improve as a quarterback in our league. Kurt Warner told me once that when he got back to the NFL after playing in the Arena League, the NFL game was like slow motion. Everything in the Arena League is just so much faster and quicker and predicated on accuracy. Whenever Tim is willing, we have a contract waiting for him to sign.“ As of now, Tebow remains on the Jets roster, but many expect him to be cut loose at some point this offseason. New offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg recently mentioned that Tebow is expected to continue “taking reps at quarterback,” but that’s assuming he’ll even be on their roster by the time training camp rolls around. New York is reportedly still trying to shop him for some amount of draft compensation, which seems unlikely given the Jets didn’t do him any favors last year with regards to the way he was utilized in their offense. It’s safe to assume that the Jets’ poor handling of the situation has had a negative impact on his perceived value as an NFL player. Jacksonville, who was reportedly interested in acquiring Tebow last year, has already publicly stated that they will not pursue him as a trade option or even as a free agent. It’s hard to say what the future holds for Tebow. A change of position could buy him some time in NFL, but he’s said that intends to remain at quarterback. Others have proposed the idea of him possibly signing with the CFL at some point, but there’s been little talk regarding that idea in the past few months.

  • I find it sad that this young man is used as a toy, not just by teams but media and fans alike. No matter the quality of a team, it always needs a quality man and or motivator around to keep all the garbage in check. Finally, a player comes along with morals and we the people of all walks of life find nothing but joy in life when tormenting this kid. The nfl has been DUMB enough to let quality leave in the past, this should be no surprise to any of us. Let him play elsewhere and let his love for life lift another league and spur on fans. Of course, if the Jet's are using this in a larger game plan and will keep Tim in the end, hat's off to Mr. Ryan. Well played and nice to see someone pull the wool over on thugs. Yeah, you know, media, players and owners. We shall see!!!!!!!!!!
  • "No matter the quality of a team, it always needs a quality man and or motivator around to keep all the garbage in check."

That's called the head coach. You don't waste a roster spot for a "motivator."
  • Well put! I am growing very weary of how pro sports consistently demeans the "good guys". I wish the best for Tim Tebow as well as any other less-known pro player with strong a moral standard. I would like to see more A.C. Green type people in sports. After all, they are supposed to be the role models for our youth. What kind of a society do we want to have 20 years from now? Just saying...it might be something for people to consider.
  • I agree that I think it is horrible how the NFL uses the players like they are just stuff to be bought and sold. They are used up and crippled and thrown out when they quit being useful. Tim Tebow has a lot of talent and he is discarded and made fun of because he is an out loud christian. If he was a homosexual he would be put up on a pedestal and worshiped. Instead he is a talented young man with morals and people cant stand that. The media and many others try to break him so they can then point fingers at him ad tell him what a loser they think he is. He has the talent if someone would just work with him instead
  • Sorry, Homosexuals are not allowed in the NFL. At least not openly, like Christians are.
  • I really think the perfect NFL spot for Tim Tebow is the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are in very dire need of a quarterback. And,Tim Tebow is in dire need of a fair opportunity - very much unlike the shafting that he got from Ryan / Jets. It sounds like a perfect match to me. Additionally, I think the Bills fan base would embrace Tebow. And, I think the Bills Organization would be very fair with him. I think it just might work.
  • I think Arena Football would do good things for Tebow. It teaches you to think faster on your feet and to get rid of the ball fast. Like Warner, he can always be picked back up by an NFL team.
  • Sorry, folks. Say and think what you will about Timmy, but the truth of the matter is, he's a winner. Pete Rose was the worst hitter in basball, but he never knew it. Joe Namath was probably stoned and people thought he was crazy. Whooops... he knew what was happenning. Terry Bradshaw was benched every Monday and watched Hanratty start a BUNCH of games, but when it was time to win the game, Chuck Knoll knew what to do. Put Timmy on the field with a game plan and the personnel to carry out the game plan, and you have the key to success. Believe it or not...

Are Dwyane Wade and the Heat headed for a split?

There’s little doubt that future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade would look a bit awkward in another uniform. Even when LeBron James was providing South Beach with four straight conference titles, the Miami Heat were Wade’s team. A 12-year veteran of the Heat, one report is now indicating that Wade could opt out of his contract and look for employment elsewhere this summer. The Miami...

Adrian Peterson goes on social media rant regarding contract

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson probably doesn’t understand that “tweeting through it” won’t accomplish many goals. The much maligned veteran went on a pretty absurd Twitter rant on Thursday, talking about everything from how NFL teams don’t honor contracts to how players are thrown to the side “like trash.” It was a meltdown of epic proportions: ...

Report: Buffalo Sabres to hire Dan Bylsma as head coach

After throwing crazy money at new Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock and missing out, it seems the Buffalo Sabres have settled on an adequate backup plan as John Wawrow reports the team is set to hire Dan Bylsma.  Just filed: Person familiar with talks tells AP that #Sabres have agreement in place to hire Dan Bylsma pending compensation to #Penguins. — John Wawrow...

Marc Trestman will make Joe Flacco a Pro Bowler

As I mentioned in a recent article, “The ‘Wacko’ nickname has eventually taken a toll on Joe Flacco’s reputation,” as he’s yet to receive the credit that he deserves. Other than the in-house support in which Flacco gets from the Baltimore Ravens, it’s no mystery that Flacco is still viewed as a less than elite quarterback in the NFL. That could all change quickly though...

Could Tyrod Taylor be the Buffalo Bills’ savior?

Much of the chatter this offseason has been about the Buffalo Bills current quarterback situation. We all know that it us somewhere between mediocre and okay. But is it really? We know what we have with Matt Cassel. We think we know what we have with EJ Manuel, and we definitely know that Jeff Tuel is really nothing more than a camp arm. That leaves Tyrod Taylor? Could he be the...

Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf released a statement with the announcement...

LeSean McCoy refuses to return Chip Kelly's calls

When the Philadelphia Eagles traded LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills, he was — to say the absolute least — not a happy camper. McCoy is a Pennsylvania man: He was born there, he went to High School there, he went to college there and he spent the first six years of his professional career there. So to be jettisoned off to Buffalo with no notice seemed a bit cold, and that’s...
