PLAYERS: Mark SanchezTim Tebow
TEAMS: New York Jets

Via Sportress of Blogitude:

If things haven’t been tough enough over the past several months for New York Jets incumbent starting quarterback Mark Sanchez ever since the team traded for Tim Tebow, the awkwardness reached new heights during a Q&A session at Jets training camp on Thursday.

The video is a bit short and starts up just as the exercise in awkwardness ensues, but an unidentified reporter erroneously addresses Sanchez as “Tim.” To which, Sanchez, taking it all in stride, simply replies, “I’m Mark.” Well played by Sanchez. That kind of quick thinking on his feet should serve him well as the Jets starter. Well, as long as he is the starter for the Jets, that is. Who knows how this quarterback situation will play out this season.

  • Mark Sanchez can't get a break. I would have wanted to see a thought cloud over head telling us what he was REALLY thinking after that reporter got his name wrong!
  • This isn't unusual at all. Such gaffes are common. For example, many reporters have mistaken Tebow for someone who can play the game.
  • If he could I guess he wouldn't of been traded for a 5th round pick to back up Sanchez LOL.
  • Get em Sanchez, you should of told her what you really thought...

Reporter refers to Mark Sanchez as ‘Tim’ at Jets training camp, awkwardness ensues (VIDEO)

And it begins. Well that didn’t take long.  Barely a day into Jets training camp and already there’s a quarterback controversy of sorts, except that this has nothing to do with the on-field performances of Tim Tebow and/or Mark Sanchez.  Seems a female reporter mistakenly called Sanchez “Tim” during an interview session, to which the current New York starting QB coolly...

Mark Sanchez Gets Called "Tim" By Reporters

NFL training camps have opened and the media circus in NY is only just beginning to form around the Jets. However, you'd think people would at least have the courtesy of remembering his name... Ouch!

Jets Reporter Refers to Mark Sanchez as 'Tim' During Media Session With Jets Quarterback (Video)

While they will almost never be confused for one another on the field, one Jets reporter has already mistaken Mark Sanchez for Tim Tebow off the field. On Friday, a reporter was in a scrum with Sanchez when she incorrectly asked "Tim" a question. Sanchez laughed off the mistake and told her "I'm Mark," as seen below.

Reporter calls Jets QB Mark Sanchez, "Tim" (Video)

It appears that one reporter had Tim Tebow on the brain during a New York Jets Q&A session at the New York Jets training camp. Watch as she calls Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, "Tim": It's nice that Mark laughed it off since I'm pretty sure that he is seething inside from that.

Reporter confuses Mark Sanchez with Tim Tebow (Video)

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is going to be dealing with enough questions from the media about his play this season now that Tim Tebow is his backup quarterback. However, for the reporters that are asking these questions, you hope that they can at least keep their names straight. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened Thursday as Sanchez reported to Jets training...

Rex Ryan to Santonio: Keep quiet on Tebow-Sanchez controversy

Everyone at the New York Jets' opening day of training camp Thursday was on their best behavior and Rex Ryan intends to keep it that way.  The team— which seems to have more dramas than an episode of "Dallas"— has a quarterback controversy ready to boil over and the head coach wants his players— specifically Santonio Holmes— to turn down the heat. Jets’ Ferguson focuses on team, says there’s greatness
