Say what you want about Brett Favre but these photos are proof that the guy is still a machine. Is there anybody more primed for a comeback in 2013 than Favre? Hell no. The guy has not stopped since retirement and this dodgeball tournament is only the latest of his escapades. You might remember back in November that the ol’ gunslinger participated in a Southern Miss sorority 5K. Apparently the running just wasn’t getting it done for him competitively because Friday he was spotted playing in a dodgeball tourney in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Look at that back pedaling form. You could squint and it would almost look like he’s dropping back in the pocket ready to unleash a bomb. It’s like the guy hasn’t lost a step. The tournament was held at the Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. To say the locals were excited to play dodgeball with Brett would be an understatement. Nailing guys in the head? Yep, sounds like Favre will be ready to roll once the Eagles call in August after the Nick Foles experiment begins to fall apart. [h/t @RandyAndTheBand] Filed under: Football, NFL

  • Whether you like Farve or not this is awesome, if you did not like dodge ball in school your a wimp. I'm sure in todays school they probably don't let the self esteem generation play. I bet it would hurt like HLL getting hit by him. Let the negative comments begin, have fun Brett!
  • "Bratt" looks a little heavy. Part of getting older I guess. Seems like dodge ball would be a good sport for him. He's dodged enough defensive linemen in his day along with a few inquiries as to his cell phone activity!
  • Awesome! I'm sure that red ball packs quite a punch when he's throwing it!
  • I'm older so I remember both Dodgeball, and Bombardament. How bad would that suck to have Brett Favre slinging a dodgeball straight at your melon?
  • I like the ones the size of volley balls with a little air out and you could see it wrap around the guys face at impact, those were the days!
  • I wonder how many interceptions he threw....

Borland on retirement: Health 'more important' than money

One of the more surprising moments of the NFL offseason occurred back in March when former San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland retired after just one year in the league. For Borland—a former first-team All-American at Wisconsin—the decision was about much more than money. In announcing his retirement, the linebacker had this to say: “I just honestly want to do...

Prior to their 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles Saturday, the Chicago White Sox honored members of the military by stationing them on the field with the home team. Miguel Cabrera lands on DL for first time in his career

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera has been a model of consistently at the plate, and until Friday, he’d been a consistent fixture in the lineup, too. However, Cabrera’s 12-plus year streak of avoiding the disabled list has come to a close. He sustained a leg injury while sprinting to second base as part of a hit-and-run in the bottom of the fourth inning against...
