Ryan Tannehill is Mike Pouncey’s guy. We get that. Pouncey is Tannehill’s center, so it’s only natural for him to throw as much praise as he can at Tannehill.

So when asked how he thinks Tannehill matches up with fellow rookie quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck, Pouncey easily proclaims that Tannehill is the best of the bunch.

“I think he’s the best rookie quarterback in the NFL right now,” Pouncey said of Tannehill, taken by Miami with the No. 8 pick in last April’s NFL draft. “Without his success that he’s having right now, we wouldn’t be the 3-3 Dolphins that we are.”

“I think he’s better than RG3,” Pouncey said of Tannehill. “Their games are different. RGIII can throw, but he can also run. Tannehill’s a smart quarterback.

Now comparing Tannehill to other rookie quarterbacks is one thing. But Pouncey takes it a step further and says Tannehill will end up being like Tom Brady.

I think he’s going to be one of those elite guys like Tom Brady when it comes said and done. Just his composure. His leadership in the huddle right now is just phenomenal. … I do see Tom, and the way he coordinates and runs his offense is the same as Tannehill does.”

We understand that’s your quarterback and all, but please settle down, Mike.

Latest news on Tannehill’s injury & status for Dolphins game on Sunday

Yesterday, the Miami Dolphins welcomed Ryan Tannehill back to the practice field.  Tannehill is still recovering from a hyperextended knee and deep thigh bruise that he suffered in the Dolphins win on Sunday.  Tannehill was limited in Wednesday’s practice, only taking part in individual drills.  Matt Moore took the majority of the actual practice snaps with the entire first...

Mike Pouncey: Ryan Tannehill is NFL’s best rookie QB, will be like Tom Brady

You could easily make the argument that Ryan Tannehill has exceeded expectations as the starting quarterback of the Miami Dolphins this season. His TD-to-interception ratio of 4-to-6 is underwhelming, but Tannehill’s quarterback rating of 75.8 is not all that bad for a rookie leading an offense. Most importantly, he has played well enough to lead the Dolphins to a 4-3 record. But...

Dolphins like Tannehill more than Colts' Luck

DAVIE, Fla. -- The "Suck for Luck" campaign was in full force a year ago. The Miami Dolphins were 0-7 and in position to land Andrew Luck with the top pick in the NFL draft. It didn't happen. The Dolphins suddenly turned matters around and finished 6-10. Indianapolis ended up with the highly touted quarterback. But the Dolphins have come out OK. They managed to get...

NFL Fantasy Football Injury News: Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill 50-50 to play Sunday

If the NFL season ended today, the Miami Dolphins would have earned one of the AFC’s two wildcard playoff berths, based in part by the strong play of rookie QB Ryan Tannehill. As the Dolphins prepare to take on the Indianapolis Colts, Miami might have to take the field without Tannehill this week. ESPN’s Ed Werder confirmed on Friday that Tannehill is indeed a 50-50 bet to start...

Tannehill hopeful to play vs. Colts, Hartline listed as questionable

A historic NFL matchup may come down to a game time decision on Sunday as Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill was limited once again at practice on Friday and is listed as questionable on the injury report. If Tannehill is able to suit up against fellow first round pick Andrew Luck, it would be the first game between two rookie quarterbacks taken in the first ten picks with a winning...

Tom Brady wins another award he probably doesn't care about

Tom Brady has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.— Nick Underhill (@Nick_Underhill) October 31, 2012It's Brady's 22nd time winning the award, which ties him with Peyton Manning for the most all time.It was maybe Brady's best game of the season as he threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns. Still, something Brady has stressed over and over again is...

Can the Patriots offense get better?

If you ask Tom Brady, yes. Yes, it can.ProFootballTalk“I hope so. I hope we make improvements,” Brady said, via the Boston Herald. “There’s still a lot of football left. We’re 5-3 so that tells you we’ve been a little bit up and down. It hasn’t been terrible. It hasn’t been great and we have a lot of room for improvement, so we’ll see how that goes over the course...

Brady’s Season Has Been One Of His Best

My dad is good for many things. Picking up the tab at dinner. Telling me stories about Mickey Mantle. Falling asleep with his mouth open on the couch. More than all of those, though (well, except the dinner one), he’s best at good ol’ fashioned football talk. For years, the Red Sox – and baseball – were his baby, but as the Patriots have become a surefire 11-win each year...

Patriotic Halfway Awards

Here we sit halfway through the season chilling and recovering on our bye week. What better time to evaluate the team across the board and hand out some awards to those that have worked hard through the season.MVP - LB/DE Rob NinkovichObvious choice here is Tom Brady. But I'm thinking outside the box here. This award is going to go to LB/DE Rob Ninkovich. Heading in to week 9...

Reflections at 4-4

Louis Bacigalupi posts comments on the site as LouieLouie.  He’s an accountant by trade and worked in a USFL front office.  He can be reached by email at Louie@fiercelyI.com. Before the regular season began, I hoped the Seahawks could be 4-4 halfway through the season.  They could have very well been 3-5, or 2-6 -- They played five games on the road; their three home games...

Matt Shoemaker is, by all accounts, having a pretty decent rookie season for the Los Angeles Angels. His beard game is tremendous, he’s got that 12-4 record and, based on this tweet to Will Middlebrooks Thursday night…his wife, currently expecting their first child, is top notch. Shoemaker’s wife Danielle sent out the “butthole” message shortly after her husband gave up...
