Via Rumors And Rants:

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was voted the NFL’s dirtiest player for the second year in a row.

The poll of 103 players was conducted by the Sporting News, and Suh received 32 votes. Last year, Suh got 36 votes in the same poll of 111 players. Suh was suspended for two games last season after stomping on the arm of Green Bay Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith during Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving Day game.

An anonymous NFL defensive player had the following to say about the Lions’ controversial lineman:

“Suh. He hasn’t done anything crazy (this year). The type of hits he puts on quarterbacks, the way he finishes guys – some of them are legal, but a lot of them I’d say, are over the top.”

For those who didn’t know, Suh also finished atop a poll of the NFL’s least liked players earlier this year.

Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito came in second in the dirtiest player poll with 19 votes (he was sixth last season), while St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan (14 votes) finished third for the second-straight year.

Despite not playing much this season, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison (six votes) fell from second to fourth place this year, while Tennessee Titans offensive tackle David Stewart (three votes) was fifth. Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jason Babin and Steelers safety Ryan Mundy rounded finished tied for sixth, while 12 players tied with one vote.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise after Suh’s very public stomping of Dietrich-Smith last year and his numerous fines for dirty play.

Roller-coaster first half for Lions

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- In many ways, the first half of this Detroit Lions season has gone the complete opposite of how most would have expected. No touchdown passes from Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson, but a respectable, emerging run game? The secondary, widely considered the teams weak link, is depleted by injuries week after week, but the Lions still rank No. 7 in total defense...

Lions have found 1-2 running punch

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Seeing Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford atop the NFL with 346 pass attempts this season isn't surprising. Stafford led the league with 663 attempts last season. But just when opposing teams figured they could zero in on Detroit's offense by focusing on the passing attack led by Stafford and receiver Calvin Johnson, the Lions have added an unexpected...

Banged-up WR Johnson still a force for Lions

Banged-up Detroit Lions star Calvin Johnson says his knee is feeling better than it did this time last week. Detroit Lions: Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#16)

Last week: 20 (+4) Record: 4-4 With the NFC East struggling lately outside of the Giants and the NFC West struggling lately outside of San Francisco and Seattle (who the Lions beat), the Lions are suddenly right back in the thick of things after a disappointing 1-3 start. I think they rank firmly ahead of Philadelphia, Dallas, Minnesota, Arizona, St. Louis, and Washington right now...

Titus Young Returns To Practice Friday

Lions second-year receiver Titus Young (knee) returned to practice for the first time this week.Fantasy Spin:Young was one of the most added players last week and posting nine catches for 100 yards and two scores in Week 8.
