The future of NFL stadiums is almost here. With a growing number of fans preferring to watch games in the comfort of their homes, stadiums have to think outside the box. The 49ers are planning to do just that according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo! Sports:

It seems right that a team from California would lead the charge on really integrating high level technology into a stadium. Lets just hope the fans don’t end up with $15 dollar beers after having the app find the shortest line.

49ers' experienced O-line ready for new challenge

In unison, offensive linemen Alex Boone, Joe Staley and Adam Snyder stood up from their post-practice ice baths and headed for the locker room to prepare for afternoon meetings. Seeing them together in a line of individual ice tubs was hardly surprising considering the San Francisco 49ers' tight-knit O-line and its cast of characters. The Niners return a group that started every...

Colin Kaepernick believes he got faster during the offseason

49ers quarterback Colin Kaerpnick told Peter King of SI.com that he believes he improved his speed this past offseason. I think it’s foreign to most of us that a player can significantly improve his speed, but Colin Kaepernick thinks he’s done just that this offseason. He trained in Atlanta with some speed technicians, including long-jumper Dwight Phillips. “I trained with...

San Francisco 49ers expanding TE Vernon Davis’ role

In fantasy football terms, San Francisco 49ers has failed to live up to expectations in recent years. A freakish athlete, Davis has scored just six and five touchdowns in the last two seasons respectively. Davis recorded just 41 receptions (2.5 per game) last year, but that number could be on the rise in 2013 while the Niners are experimenting with Davis at different positions on...

Darius Fleming is Mr. Glass

Jonas Jennings, Ted Ginn Jr, and now Darius Fleming. Every so often there comes a player that is on the 49ers roster that for whatever reason just can’t stay healthy and when that happens I like to bestoy the title of Mr. Glass on them. (For those that do not know who Mr. Glass is, he is the character played by Samuel L. Jackson in the movie Unbreakable.) #49ers LB Darius Fleming...

49ers Training Camp: The Battle for Defensive Starting Jobs

The smell of freshly cut grass and the sound of helmets clanging together filled the air in Santa Clara this week, signifying the start of training camp for the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers. But don’t think that the 49ers are still basking in the glory of winning their conference, or sulking in the agony of losing the Super Bowl. “If you have to talk about what...

RUMORS & GOSSIP

Is Miguel Cabrera this generation’s Hank Aaron?

On June 20, 2003, Miguel Cabrera struck out in his first big league at bat.  He’d get the last laugh however. In the bottom of the eleventh inning the 20-year-old rookie hit a two-run home run to help his then-Florida Marlins to a 3-1 victory over the then-Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Now, I bring that up only to awkwardly segue into this. Friday, the reigning American League MVP turned...

WWE upset with Nancy Grace over Warrior death coverage

HLN Video Hey, remember when The Ultimate Warrior died and Nancy Grace brought on Diamond Dallas Page to openly suggest Warrior died from steroids, brought in totally unrelated doctor who said things like “anabolic steroids are probably used by 1% of Americans,” then put together a list of wrestlers who died young to suggest Owen Hart died from drugs? Yeah, turns out WWE wasn’t...

James Dolan may have saved the Raptors season If you told anyone at the beginning of the NBA season that the Toronto Raptors would win the Atlantic division, you would have been called nuts. Well six months later, the Raptors secured the division and have landed home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. However, this might have never happened had New York Knicks...

Roy Hibbert: ‘I was wrong’ to call out Pacers teammates

Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert says it what was wrong for him to criticize his teammates in late March. “You know, I think that I should’ve kept my frustrations to myself or just in the locker room,” Hibbert said on “ESPN First Take.” “I will admit that it wasn’t the best thing to do. I’ll learn from that, and I was wrong. There are better ways to handle that...
