The New York Giants are in the midst of a modest one-game win streak and — considering the team's history of second half season swoons — they'll take it.

Better yet, if it's because of Osi Umenyiora's new good luck charm — Miss Universe Leila Lopes — we'll take it.

The Giants defensive end was seen "hiding out" in the back of Manhattan's Empire steakhouse with the  world-class beauty on Monday during a party to say farewell to her title.

Lopes, the first Angolan to ever win the title, was seen with the Giants two-time Pro-Bowler the night after Osi's team pounded the Green Bay Packers at MetLife Stadium.

Insiders are hoping she sticks around New York until after the playoffs "to keep his good luck coming," reports Page Six of the New York Post.

Giants fans might just want the 25-year-old Lopes to hang around anyway.

Giants to NFC: We’re still the champs

With the rest of the football world watching their every movement: the New York Giants did what they did best on Sunday night. They impressed. On the heels of a two-game losing skid, many people believed the Giants simply didn’t have that mojo they had a year ago when they won the super bowl. In a wide open NFC East, some thought the Giants wouldn’t even make the playoffs this...

Justin Tuck thinks Redskins offense is only effective with RG3

Justin Tuck has a great deal of respect for Robert Griffin III, but thinks the Redskins offense is doomed if Griffin goes down. As the NFL moves closer to college style offenses, some of the attributes call for quarterbacks to be a little more than just passers. That also means they are exposed to big hits and could get knocked out of a game in a blink of an eye. Tucks feels...

Giants WR Cruz eyes Pro Bowl, division title

Chasing both a Pro Bowl dream and a new contract at season's end, Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is orchestrating another fine season. Cruz, New York's leading receiver, has 63 catches, 779 yards and eight touchdowns, and the Giants are in first place in the NFC East. Indeed, life is good ... on and off the field. In fact, Cruz recently corralled a football dropped from...

Kiwanuka clutch at two positions for Giants

When Mathias Kiwanuka signed a contract extension with the New York Giants earlier this year, he understood his job was to be a wild card in the defense. Kiwanuka is somewhat of a rarity in the NFL. A two-position player, the seven-year veteran is listed on the roster as a linebacker, but he plays as much on the defensive line, his natural position. This past week in the Giants...

Chevy dealership giving away free cars if the Redskins shut the Giants out

The New York Giants have one of the better offenses in the NFL. They score more than 27 points per game, which is the fifth-highest total in the league. On Monday night, the Washington Redskins will have their hands full trying to stop Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, Ahmad Bradshaw and the rest of New York’s offensive weapons. If by some miracle the Redskins can keep them off the board...

New York Giants: 3 Elements That Make Them Great

After a two game skid that had people thinking that maybe the New York Giants were vulnerable, they came out Sunday night and put in a performance to speak to the contrary by beating the Green Bay Packers 38-10. It seems that everytime the Giants are perceived to be on the ropes they rise to the occasion and make a statement that says, "everyone put the shovels down , don'...

Justin Tuck: I have nightmares about Robert Griffin III

The New York Giants had a ton of trouble with Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III when they faced him over a month ago, and they will have to step up to the challenge again on Monday night. It doesn’t sound like Justin Tuck is looking forward to it very much. “Until I exit stage right, it seems like (Griffin is) going to be a fixture in my dreams and nightmares...

Dolphins sign CB Coe

The Miami Dolphins signed former Giants cornerback Michael Coe. Coe spent the previous three seasons with the New York Giants where he played in 21 games with one start. He was originally selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Coe played two seasons at Arkansas before transferring to Alabama State to play for his father, Charles.

Yankees bench Derek Jeter

Things have hit rock bottom in the Bronx.  In what should be a celebratory month of Derek Jeter‘s career (and potential final postseason appearance), the New York Yankees are just about out of options to make the playoffs.  One last option was exercised today.  Bench Derek Jeter.  Not demote him out of the number two spot.  Not give him a day of rest.  Benched.  The American...

Chris Davis helps flip truck over after accident on highway

After accepting a 25-game suspension for testing positive for Adderall, Chris Davis will be away from the Baltimore Orioles for the immediate future. That doesn’t necessarily mean Davis will be out of the news, however. On Monday, the Orioles first baseman found himself in a situation that required assistance, and he provided just that. Terrible […]

Kaepernick on language flag: ‘I didn’t say anything’

Colin Kaepernick became the first player in NFL history to be flagged for using “inappropriate language” on Sunday night. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback was handed the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after throwing an interception in the fourth quarter, and there was speculation that the flag was thrown because he used the N-word. Kaepernick said that […]

Jets' Mornhinweg says referee made error by calling timeout

The New York Jets could have made a game-tying touchdown in the match against the Packers, however, a timeout error of course made the situation complicated for the Jets, as usual. Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg commented on the timeout that was called after Geno Smith hit the game-tying touchdown on fourth down in the final minutes. But, the play was “negated,”...

Report: Gruden thinks Cousins is a better fit for offense than RG3

Since he was hired as head coach of the Washington Redskins, Jay Gruden has remained committed to Robert Griffin III — at least publicly. Despite reports from training camp about New England Patriots officials saying Kirk Cousins looked like the best quarterback at Redskins training camp, Cousins never stood a chance at starting. He does […]

Charles Woodson on Raiders after loss to Texans: 'We suck'

Oakland Raiders DB Charles Woodson was not in a good mood after the Raiders’ 30-14 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday.
