According to a report from USA Today, Redskins owner Dan Snyder — who doesn’t do a lot of media interviews — spoke to USA Today on Tuesday about the ongoing name change issue. Again, this is a very polarizing issue in the community of Redskins fans. Snyder’s stance is pretty clear. “We will never change the name of the team” The Redskins owner has said this before in the past, and appears steadfast to stand behind in statement. There is currently an ongoing trademark lawsuit going on in regards to the team name, and when asked about changing the name if they lose the battle in court, Snyder had the following to say: “We’ll never change the name,” he said. “It’s that simple. NEVER — you can use caps.” This certainly won’t be the last time we here of this issue. But it appears, at least according to the owner, that the team is going to be named the Redskins for as long as he has a say. • "Never" is a long time but I'm glad I'll be welcoming RGIII and the REDSKINS to MetLife Stadium in December.
  • Ir's absolutely rediculous that the team hasn't voluntarily changed the name long ago. My wife is part Cherokee and accordingly so are my 3 kids. It's an insulting and derogatory term, I don't see how you can argue otherwise. Native Americans have no voice to be heard, at least nbot in the D.C. area.FCan you imagine any other race or ethnicity being so insulted without a major uproar? Change the name, it will still be the same beloved team, the fans will get used to it quickly and we'll look back in wonder how it went on for so long, like 'colored' bathrooms and drinking fountains.
  • Good for you Dan Synder. I wish more people were like you in this regard. No reason to change the name. People are way to sensitive these days.
  • @mbutts41: Don't know what your nationality or relgion is but insert a derogatory name for that instead of 'Redskins' and tell me then about too sensitive.
  • yeah lambo, stop being such a sensitive puss!!!! you lil bitch
  • Suppose a billionaire buys a new franchise and wants the name Whiteskins, Brownskins, or Blackskins. Are these acceptable ?
  • lambo44-Get over this pc crap.I married a woman who is also part Indian. Her favorite team is the Redskins.Move on to something that really matters.
  • BRAVO Dan Snyder to standing up to the overblown political correctness of today. The Redskins have been the Redskins for a long time and now all of sudden we have to change the name. The name of football team is just that. Yes call it the Whiteskins doesn't bother me. Its the name of a dam football team and not someone calling me a whitebread or honky! Get over it. Not only can we not joke with each other but we can't name a football team without the race card being drawn.
  • Dan Foreskin is just the tip of whats wrong in the USA. Oh...thats right who was here first. Please take his hair.
  • I don't get it. Why would anyone object to being named after a type of potato??

Seahawks tie Super Bowl at half with gutsy call

The Seattle Seahawks took a bold gamble at the end of the first half of Super Bowl XLIX, but a virtual no-name made it pay off. The Seahawks trailed the Patriots by seven points Sunday night with just six seconds left in the second quarter and had a decision to make with the ball at New England’s 11-yard line: Go for the touchdown or settle for the field-goal try? Seattle head...

Did Marshawn Lynch grab his crotch after touchdown run?

Did Marshawn Lynch do his crotch grab after scoring a touchdown in the Super Bowl? That’s what many want to know. Lynch has made a habit of doing his “hold my d–k” pose after scoring touchdowns on impressive plays, or even when his teammates score. It’s just his way of celebrating. But the NFL doesn’t...Read More

Roger Goodell might have to fine himself.   The NFL commissioner declined a live interview with NBC on Sunday ahead of Super Bowl XLIX, Bob Costas reported during the network’s pregame show. Insider information suspected on National Anthem betting

When it comes to the Super Bowl, you can bet on darn near everything. You can wager on the color of clothing people will be wearing, whether the first score of the game will come via safety, or even whether Bill Belichick sneezes on camera. But are all potential wagers on the up and up?...Read More

Pats-Seahawks tickets most expensive in S.B. history

It’s not very often that the two No. 1 seeds square off in the Super Bowl, so it should come as no surprise that the ticket prices for this year’s matchup are sky high.   Tickets for Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks are the most expensive in history, coming in at an average price of $4,600 a pop on StubHub, per ESPN’s Darren...

Super Bowl matchup of low round QBs a rarity

Super Bowl XLIX is here!  Over the past two weeks, this matchup has undergone every angle of hash-tagging social saturation, from #Deflategate, to #LegionofBoom, to #Beastmode, to #TheGronk and #QBvsQB. What might get lost in the shuffle is this matchup pairs two quarterbacks that may represent the end to an era; QBs who have had to overcome a stigma attached to them since they...

Reporter who broke Deflategate story receiving death threats

Indianapolis columnist Bob Kravitz is an established, long-time voice in the midwest. He also happened to initially break the story of the Patriots’ deflated footballs after the AFC Championship Game. Since that story broke, his life has been turned on its head. In fact, some fans have so much hatred towards Kravitz that they’re actually lobbing death threats at him. Ben...
