Even when the Jets aren’t playing, the team manages to remain a main topic of conversation in New York by keeping its name in the city’s papers, even if the news of the day has absolutely nothing to do with actual football. Just last week, a photo published by the New York Daily News of head coach Rex Ryan sunning himself while on a vacation on Prairie Island in the Bahamas whipped the interwebs into a frenzy in light of a tattoo on his right arm that by all appearances looked to be a racy image of his wife wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey and little else.
Inquiring minds that comprise the New York sports media had their first crack at Ryan after the photo emerged on Tuesday during his season-ending press conference, and Ryan addressed the tattoo, even managing to turn the entire affair into an opportunity to crack a joke about Mark Sanchez in the process.
Taking the gossip about the tattoo head-on during the presser, but spinning it to his own satisfaction, Ryan did not explicitly confirm that the tattoo was legit, saying, “There’s a question if it’s a real tattoo or not. I’ll keep you guessing.”
Even though he would not 100% confirm its authenticity, Ryan did say that if the quarterback he loyally stood by through a difficult season doesn’t improve, changes are coming: ”I know what you’re thinking, obviously if Sanchez doesn’t play better then that number’s changing. That’s pretty much a given.”
Ryan said that he’s had the tattoo for three years and justified the tattoo’s existence — at least in his mind — by lavishing flattering praise upon his wife, saying, “”I’ve been married 25 years and through my eyes, my wife’s the most beautiful woman in the world.”
Fair enough, Rex.

good ole rex. what a joy!!!!!!!

Who cares about rex ryan and his stupid tattoo, just so long as he keeps the jets the Chuckle Fest of the NFL that they are. Seriously, this franchise is a joke and ryan is the ring leader. But 2013 is his last hurrah because even the jets gutless owner will can his ass when they have another losing season again, which they will.
