Rex Ryan was spotted vacationing in the Bahamas showing off his new slimmed-down beach body just days after his New York Jets finished their season with a dismal 6-10 record. It wasn't the only thing the Jets head coach revealed in his blue and white swim trunks after fellow poolside sunbathers saw what might be a clue as to why Ryan stuck with his quarterback Mark Sanchez through thick and thin during the quarterback's horrible 2012 season — a kinky tattoo. On the coach's right arm were two tattoos — one featuring a shamrock and the names of his wife Michelle and their two children.  Below that, there is another showing what looks like a sexy rendering of Michelle wearing nothing but a Sanchez jersey and eyeing the viewer with bedroom eyes, as described by the New York Daily News. Ryan, who has been on the lam since the Jets season ending loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, unveiled the bizarre tattoo on his right bicep while lounging poolside at the exclusive Cove Atlantis resort, listening to music and reading "American Sniper," by Navy SEAL Chris Kyle. Ryan cursed out a Daily News reporter who approached the relaxing coach. "Oh s---," Ryan said, while waving off the newshound and storming off with his wife. Ryan proudly displayed the tribal art tattoo he got on his right calf before the 2011 season but it's anyone's guess when he got Sanchez's jersey number inked on his arm.  Chances are it was before the five turnover game against the Titans. While it's never been a good idea to permanently ink your current fling's name anywhere on your body, it is even more awkward when it's one of your players stuck in a quarterback controversy. I hope Ryan is prepared for a little painful off-season laser removal of the bromance ink.  Things could have been worse though — it could have been Tim Tebow's  No. 15 instead of Sanchez's single-digit No. 6.

  • Rex, your an idiot.
  • No. Whoever took those pictures, and wrote this article are idiots. WTF does Rex' tatoos have to do with ANYTHING that happened to the Jets on the field this year? THIS is why players aned coaches alike, hate the media. This is really mother-"F"ing STUPID.
  • Technically it's Rex, you're an idiot.
  • Maybe it's actually a number 8 and he just misses Mark Brunell.
  • Dude makes millions and he gets a cartoon character on his arm...wtf over???? How is this guy allowed to coach football...
  • Is he still into feet? Thought he and his wife were like foot fetish swingers or something?
  • What's so cool about this pic is that the dude is pretending to know how to read.
  • Ahhh take a look, the book has no words, just pictures of more cartoons for future Tats LOL.
  • the amazing thing is that Rex has a wife...
  • Michael, if you're going to call someone an idiot, you should at least be grammatically correct. YOUR is a possessive, as opposed to the contraction for "you are"(YOU'RE) and, while Rex may well be the proud owner of an idiot that in no way makes him an idiot. Now, having a tat of his wife (and not a very good one at that!) wearing Sanchez's number might well qualify him as an idiot --- unless, of course, he is into 3-somes and he and his wife both like Sanchez in more ways than one! Otherwise, someone should refer him to a good laser ink removal specialist.
  • Now we know why he's kept Sanchez around so long. We all knew he was a voyuer, but threesomes too?
  • Well, from looking at the tat, I don't see Sanchez's name or the Jets anywhere. While it can be rightfully assumed that it is of Sanchez's jersey on his wife, there is nothing that specifically says so. It could be Namath's jersey too.
  • It's definitely Sanchez. If it was Namath, it probably would have been a 12.
  • I admit that I'm not up on my Jets history when I posted this, but my point is still the same. No where does the tat say Sanchez or the Jets. Could be of Bubby Brister or Ray Lucas (most likely not though). It could be just a tat of a pic that Rex liked of her, and she happened to be wearing that jersey.
  • Enough with that fat blowhard huckster. He should be tried for fraud.(pretending to be a football coach)>>>Like he needs a vacation? From what?
  • SO, that's why he didn't give Tebow a chance when Sanchez was throwing all those INTs ... his wife had a thing for Sanchez!
Doesn't explain how he kept his job! Or maybe the wife had a hand in it (or on it)!

  • That is really disturbing.
  • Yeah, I'm SURE he intentionally dumped his season over a tattoo. His job was on the line, and he was trying to win whatever way he could. If he thought Sanchez was worse than the other two, he wouldn't've played him. No professional coach intentionally plays inferior players - let alone for such an asinine "reason."
  • He wants his wife to give him a Dirty Sanchez.
  • Thats a provocative tattoo???? LOL!!! It looks like a cartoon tattoo. The arm (if thats what is supposed to be) looks like a boomerang. Stupid!
  • you know he cud coach the radiers and get a black and silver cover up, hed fit right in there!!
  • I truly believe that there is a latent homosexual lying beneath Rex Ryan.
If I were to tattoo my wife sporting a jersey on my arm (and I have more class than Rex that way), I would at least use the # 1, not Sanchez' number.
You can carry a man crush so far before your cross over the line from crush to lust. God, Rex, you really are an a sshole.

RUMORS & GOSSIP

LSU S blasts Tigers fans for leaving game early

These LSU fans aren’t loyal. That’s what Tigers’ safety Jamal Adams thinks, anyway.  Wednesday evening, LSU’s men’s basketball team lost to Tennessee on senior night, 78-63. Many Tigers’ fans were seen departing from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center with minutes to go in the contest.  This did not please Adams, a 6-foot, 206-pound rising sophomore on the LSU football...

Nobody’s safe in the NFL and nothing is sacred

Part of the reason that the signing of Josh McCown was such big news in Cleveland is because it meant the end of Brian Hoyer. As a player, there’s nothing worth talking about with Brian. Even as I’ve supported him as a player, I only did so while acknowledging that in a given year, he could be, at best, a mediocre quarterback. For other fans it went deeper because Brian Hoyer...

UMass to retire jersey in honor of John Calipari

The University of Massachusetts’ men’s basketball program announced Wednesday evening it will be honoring former coach John Calipari with a retired jersey.  Calipari, 56, coached at UMass from 1988-96, leading the Minutemen to the Final Four in 1996. The team’s Final Four appearance was later revoked from the record books when it was discovered that star center Marcus Camby...

Houston Texans are moving on from Andre Johnson

Andre Johnson has a good chance of winding up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame down the road. Johnson, who has starred with the Houston Texans over the past 12 seasons, is about to become a free agent after the organization justifiably decided he is not worth the $16.14 million cap hit in 2015. By cutting Johnson, the Texans will save $8.8 million against the cap while also saying...

The New England Patriots cornerback has been named a first-team All-Pro four times, a Pro Bowl six times, and won a Super Bowl in February due in large part to his terrific play. After eight seasons with three teams and at 29 years old, Revis is about to hit the free-agent market for...
