Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens was on NFL AM Wednesday morning and was asked if any NFL teams have reached out to him.

“Nothing as of right now,” he said. “So I understand the process. Obviously teams are really taking a closer look in evaluating their younger players. Being a free agent, I understand that later in the months as training camp starts, they’ll start looking for veterans.”

Owens said that he believes the Chiefs and Vikings would both be a good fit for him.  They must not feel the same way, since they haven’t even called him.  He believes he’s being punished for the antics he pulled off throughout his career.

“It’s all politics,” he said. “I think a lot of it has to do with my reputation, things that I’ve done early in my career. I’m a changed person. I’m a bit more mature then I was in years past and I think if anybody out there can look past that, and look what I can bring to the team than some of the things that happened in the past, I can look past it and maybe they could and I could go in and help a team develop some of those younger guys.”

After not being able to make the Seahawks final roster last year, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to sign Owens.  He’s done.

  • Yeah, there's a boatload of NFL teams looking for an aging wide receiver who's lost a step and a half off his prime speed and is limited at best to being a role player on 3rd down, etc. and who is also a certifiable egomanianc who has disrupted more locker rooms than a warehouse full of tainted Gatorade. Common, T.O......just get on with the rest of your life....the downward spiral of increaingly demeaning ways to make a buck, culminating in bankrupcty and incarceration.
  • A good fit for T.O. would be a football summer camp teaching ego adjustment and how to screw up your career by being a loner.
  • I believe Chad Johnson might be available to help in 1-3 years....
  • T.O. is as fast as he's ever been.. Did you see how fast he ran the 40 recently.. Nothing like reading post by uninformed programed hate drones, spreading their hate.. I feel dumber for reading these comments...
