New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is featured on the cover of the September 2013 issue of Men's Health Magazine. And with the cover comes an interesting interview.

In the article Brady talks about his career, his ambitions and his new sports therapy center at Patriot Place in Foxborough. It’s all very Tom Brady-esque. (Tip: You need to download the Men’s Health Ipad app to get access to full story.)

But perhaps the most interesting part of the Q&A is when Brady talks about the longevity of his career:

When asked about playing past the age of 50, Brady says, “I would love it. If I think if I can do it, then I probably will.”

I know what you’re thinking; tongue-in-cheek, right? Well, maybe not.

With the way Brady has been protected over the years by his offensive line, his ability to make reads & release the ball quicker than most QBs and most important, the new quarterback-friendly NFL rules, it isn’t completely ridiculous.

It’s still ridiculous, but not impossible.

For as immobile as Brady may become, he is just as competitive, motivated and savvy. For a guy who went from a late sixth-round pick to a three-time Super Bowl champion, – I’d say nothing is impossible.

And if you’re still not convinced, here’s one last parting point…

Brady is paired with one of the best NFL coaches of all time. Would you really bet against the Brady-Belichick duo on ANYTHING?

4 Comments:
  • I think I will bet against the Brady-Belichick duo, after all it made me a ton of money in 2008 and 2012!
  • Well, he's been on steroids since his first year in the NFL, so he might make it.
  • Would love to see Brady play to 50, very good athlete and role model for all other athletes.
  • So Tom Brady wants to after his body fails him, to ride the bench and collect a paycheck on the sidelines while at the very same time, his AARP card arrives in the mail.

That's cool if the Patriots or another team is stupid enough to do that.

At least he didn't say he wanted to still be a starting QB until age 50 because I don't care how good the offensive line is, his mid life crisis body will get hit and hit very often.

    At least he can dream.

Old Guns Tom Brady, Peyton Manning Still NFL's Best Bets

Tom Brady and Peyton are well into the back nines of their respective careers. But the Pigskin Public still expects these Old Guns to lead the most successful teams in football this season.

Tom Brady answers the "impatient" question regarding young receivers.

The list of receivers who've flunked out of Foxboro is a long one. Joey Galloway, Chad OchoCinco, Bethel Johnson, Reche Caldwell, and a host of others have come to New England, only to leave with a big red "F" on their report cards. The rumors have persisted that QB Tom Brady may not have the patience with guys not being able to get on the same page. He addressed that...

Should the NFL use Helmet Cam's?

With today's ever growing need for the latest and greatest technology in every part of our lives, the NFL is now stepping into the light by introducing helmet cams for quarterbacks during camp. But are these cams really worth it in the long run? Also, if they are, what are the good things about having them? The St. Louis Rams were the first team to wear a cam on the QB's...

Dobson Missing, Thompkins Shines: Observations from Training Camp

I managed to make it up to Gillette Stadium today. Here are my observations from today's practice.   No Dobson, More KT/Boyce The biggest story from today’s practice is clearly the absence of rookie receiver Aaron Dobson. After impressing early in camp, the second round draft pick didn’t practice today due to an apparent injury Dobson is out on the field watching practice...

Julian Edelman’s Return to Patriots’ Practice Gives Tom Brady More Security in Slow-Developing Passing Game

FOXBORO, Mass. — Julian Edelman trotted out onto the practice field at Gillette Stadium with his teammates in full pads, which must have been a welcome sight for Tom Brady. With an entirely new group of wide receivers on the roster, Brady has enjoyed some highs and suffered through some lows so far in training camp. So, Edelman’s return to the fold should ease some of the pressure...

Redskins RB Alfred Morris Thought Bryce Harper Was Tom Brady

If you know anything about Redskins second year running back Alfred Morris, you will know he’s humble, quiet, and pretty much to himself. That quiet nature is the only thing that can save him from this embarrassing mixup. According to Yahoo Sports, WUSA 9 In Washington D.C. had an interesting idea, where they would see how many Redskins players could recognize Washington Nationals...

Is Miguel Cabrera this generation’s Hank Aaron?

On June 20, 2003, Miguel Cabrera struck out in his first big league at bat.  He’d get the last laugh however. In the bottom of the eleventh inning the 20-year-old rookie hit a two-run home run to help his then-Florida Marlins to a 3-1 victory over the then-Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Now, I bring that up only to awkwardly segue into this. Friday, the reigning American League MVP turned...
