Tight end prospect Dylan Chmura, son of former All-Pro Mark Chmura, committed to Michigan State on Sunday. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound recruit stars at Waukesha West (Wisc.), where his father is a coach.
He had offers from Central Michigan and Western Michigan after missing his junior year due to an ACL injury he suffered during his basketball season.
He received an offer from Michigan State after performing well at the Spartan 1-Day Elite Player Camp last weekend.
Michigan State brought in two high school tight ends in the 2012 class, Josiah Price and Evan Jones, and added one via the junior college route, Jamare Mills.
Chmura is the second commit for the 2013 class from Wisconsin (R.J. Shelton), and the eighth total member of the class. Solon (Ohio) cornerback Darian Hicks was the seventh commitment when he chose to become a Spartan on Wednesday.

Examining the Anthony Hargrove “Give Me My Money” Video
Here’s a very interesting breakdown by Mike Florio of the National Football Post of the video the NFL claims shows Anthony Hargrove saying “Give me my money.” I don’t agree with Florio on many things, but I believe he is right on the money (pun intended) with this one.
There is NO way anyone can watch this video and conclude it’s Anthony Hargrove saying those words. It...
Packers CB Williams still limited by shoulder
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When Packers cornerback Tramon Williams initially injured his right shoulder in Week 1 of last season, the team described it as a bruise, news that coach Mike McCarthy called "positive" at the time.
Nine months later, given the poor condition of Williams' shoulder, it's safe to assume that original diagnosis was inaccurate.
"We did strength...
Green Bay Packers Find Players and Wins in Rock Island Illinois
Through their history the Green Bay Packers have drafted football players from the Mississippi River town of Rock Island, Illinois. These players helped the team become the champions they are today. Herm Schneidman, Kenneth Duncan, and Ken Bowman are three such players who were born and or played high school football in Rock Island.
I would like to take a quick snap shot of one...
Packers Now Have Cap Room For Extensions
The Packers released Nick Collins and Chad Clifton, signed their rookies and restructuring Donald Driver's contract in an effort to clear up plenty of cap space for the team. With so many guys on the Packers due for contract extensions, expect almost all of that room to go away sooner rather than later. Greg Jennings is first in line for an extension, and it wouldn't be surprising...

Packers OG Evan Dietrich-Smith Doesn't Want To Be Known For The 'Stomp'
Evan Dietrich-Smith doesnt want to be known as that guy, you know, the one that Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh stomped on. So, Dietrich-Smith is hopeful he can be associated with something else very soon as he works to carve out a spot as a backup on the Green Bay Packers offensive line. Dietrich-Smith has been working behind new center Jeff Saturday and at guard...
Packers Roster Countdown: Part 3
It's like Noah's Ark as we hit on players Nos. 71-81: two centers, two receivers, two tackles, two fullbacks and two running backs. The Packers didn't draft a center, making Sampson Genus and Tommie Draheim two players to recall. And one of the fullbacks has a ton of upside.

Report: Packers’ Anthony Hargrove Was Suspended By NFL for Lying
In the latest news about the NFL’s handling of the New Orleans Saints bounty gate scandal, NFL general counsel Jeff Pash said on Friday that Anthony Hargrove, the former Saints defensive end, who signed with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent this offseason, was suspended by the NFL for eight games season, not for contributing to the program or because of any hits he...
Surviving Sunday: Packers News, Notes and Links for the Football Deprived
Surviving Sunday with no Packers Football
The NFL recently announced that the all-22 coaches’ film will be made available to fans through the league’s Game Rewind package on NFL.com this season.
The all-22 film is something hardcore football enthusiasts and blogger-types like me have been clamoring for for a long time. It gives us access to the same footage that coaches use...
Tackling the problem with of missed tackles
Imagine you’re a student and you have a practical exam coming up; in this test you’re asked to perform a specific skill and the instructors will not only be grading you for your ability to conceptualize what you are doing and why but to also that you can put it all together and actually get some results. I’ve been tested this way dozens of times as a undergraduate and graduate...
2012 Fantasy Football: Top 10 Wide Receivers
1. Calvin Johnson
2011 stats: 96 catches, 1,681 Yards, 16 TDs
Nothing to be said here.
2. Greg Jennings
2011 stats: 67 catches, 949 Yards, 9 TDs
I decided to go with Jennings here over Fitz primarily because #85 has the best QB in the game throwing to him. Jennings posted solid numbers last year and that was with missing essentially four games. The 101 targets he received show...

Report: Browns not interested in trading for James Jones
Getty Images
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns aren’t interested in trading for Packers wide receiver James Jones.
It would make sense for the Packers and Browns to work out a deal that would send Colt McCoy to Green Bay for Jones, but both teams aren’t interested in making anything happen.
James Jones, Respect and the Packers Plethora of Receivers
James Jones is looking for more respect.
They say you can never have enough talent. When you’ve acquired all that talent, the question becomes how do you get the most productivity and value out of said talent.
The Green Bay Packers have no shortage of talent on the offensive side of the ball, especially when it comes to pass catchers. The record-breaking group is back intact after...
