OXNARD, Calif. (AP) -- DeMarco Murray isn't ready to think of himself in the same company as Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith.
Well, the second-year running back is already listed among the Dallas Cowboys' Hall of Fame running backs in the team record book.
Murray is now in camp as the No. 1 running back after recovering from a broken right ankle.
On the first carry in his first start last October, when Felix Jones was hurt, Murray had a 91-yard touchdown. The only longer scoring run in Cowboys history is Dorsett's memorable 99-yarder in a 1983 Monday night game.
Murray ran for a team-record 253 yards in that first start. His 601 yards in the first four starts was more than NFL career rushing leader Smith ever had over a similar stretch.

When you are in the first week of training camp, things make sense. There is seldom a starting position on the roster that gives you indigestion and your depth chart generally looks like it could work if youstudy it from the proper angle.
But, invariably, in the game of football, you are forced to alter your depth chart and your plans. Yesterday was the first day of pads for the...
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admits talent often trumps character when building an NFL roster.
"Games aren't won with Sunday school teachers," he said.
Jones, though, doesn't want complete dunces either.
Troubled wide receiver Dez Bryant may soon learn that lesson should he stray from the straight and narrow once again.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently said that he was too upset with wide receiver Dez Bryant after his offseason behavior to speak with him.
Jones explained on Tuesday why he didn’t want to talk to Bryant.

OXNARD, Calif. In all his years as a Dallas Cowboys assistant coach and head coach with the team training in Southern California, Jason Garrett has never once ventured off the team's camp headquarters. Not once.
"Brill (Garrett, Jason's wife) is coming to town in a few days,'' Garrett says. "I think she's going to try to get me to sneak up to Santa...
OXNARD, Calif. - We may never know who pulled what bra strap and we may never know if "striking someone in the face with a cap'' is a truly violent act or just a re-enactment of an old Lauren & Hardybit.
But this we do know about Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryants recent legal entanglement:
His boss is pissed about it.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed Tuesday...
Dallas Cowboy owner Jerry Jones knew full well that Dez Bryant’s off-field behavior could be an issue prior to drafting the former Oklahoma State star in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft. Bryant missed the entire 2009 season of his college career after violating an NCAA rule by not disclosing his relationship with Deion Sanders.
In addition, Bryant’s home life and alleged...
