In case you missed it, I am going to be writing on a weekly basis for SB Nation's Atlanta site. The plan is to put up my Atlanta-centric posts - the local pro sports collectives, along with SEC football - up on that site and the unrelated content - Michigan football, Barca, the occasional complaint about Peter King ignoring the Red Army - will stay here. I will try to link everything that I write for SB Nation here so you don't have to go hunting.Anyway, here is the first column. It starts as an analogy between the Falcons' and Georgia's seasons before devolving into complaining about Sean Payton and Drew Brees:Leaving aside the fairness question, I like the idea of a rematch on a purely emotional level. Sean Payton and Drew Brees rubbed the Falcons' collective nose in the mud on Monday night. For those of you who were smart enough to abandon ship before I did, the Saints took the ball over on the Falcons 33 with 5:08 to go and with a 38-16 lead. Most c...

Tom Brady Not Thinking About 5,000 Yards, Chasing Drew Brees' Passing Record

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says he doesn't entertain the thought of achieving a significant passing milestone during Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills. Drew Brees Breaks Dan Marino’s Single-Season Passing Record

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke a 27-year-old NFL record during his team’s 45-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. The world watched as Brees threw for 307 yards to give him 5,086 yards for this season, two more than Dan Marino recorded in 1984. I Am Unimpressed With Drew Brees Breaking Dan Marino’s Record

There are five NFL quarterbacks that have accumulated over 4,500 passing yards in 2011. In the entire history of the NFL, before 2011, there have only been 22 instances of a QB breaking the 4,500 mark. If you look at only pre-2008 seasons, that list if cut to just 14 instances. Brees breaking Marino’s record is nothing more than a glaring reminder of the new brand of NFL football...

Drew Brees: 5,087 Yards, MVP, and Another Superbowl

Drew Brees has another notch on his belt after breaking Dan Marino’s single season passing record after throwing for 5,087 yards this season, which also moved him closer to possibly winning the MVP and now he has an excellent chance of possibly winning another Superbowl. It probably is a silly question or thought, but it is worth mentioning, he could surprise everyone...

Please, Let The Saints And Packers Play Again

Power rankings. You hate them. They’re so arbitrary and pointless, especially when they include all 32 NFL teams. All you want to know after a good week of NFL action is who the bestest team in the NFL right now, and which one is the absolute barrel-scraping worst. That’s why we have TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE NFL, where we go to great lengths to tell you who’s the...

Click on photo to read more about the AFC Playoffs It’s nice to see the Jets really not have a chance to make the playoffs. They need some help. I’m pulling for the Bengals this year.
