The New York Jets have brought in sleep specialists to help the players get more rest.
Coach Rex Ryan says Friday that the Jets (1-1) are always looking for anything to ''gain a little advantage.'' He thought it important to have the players learn more about getting eight hours of sleep and being well-hydrated, especially with a game at Miami in warm conditions Sunday.
Ryan pushed back the team's schedule by 90 minutes this week. Defensive lineman Mike DeVito says the new schedule was ''great'' and led to a week of ''higher-tempo'' practices. Ryan also shortened meetings and practices this week.
The New York Post first reported the schedule change Friday.
