New Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver heaps praise on John Harbaugh after Ravens departure
Jeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins opened up a new era on Thursday, as they formally introduced Anthony Weaver as their new defensive coordinator.

Weaver is coming off of a three-year run with the Baltimore Ravens. Weaver first joined the Ravens as a defensive line coach and run game coordinator ahead of the 2021 season. He was promoted as Baltimore’s assistant head coach a year later, but he continued to serve as its defensive line coach.

Weaver closely worked with Ravens head coach John Harbaugh while in the organization. Just as Harbaugh has been a cool, calm and collected leader for the Ravens, Weaver hopes to follow in the same path.

"In my short three years with him, I saw how he walked and operated and constantly kept the pulse of the team," Weaver said during his introductory press conference with the Dolphins. "When he got up and addressed the team, he always had something in particular in mind and was very direct in what he was trying to get done. I have so much respect for how he walks and operates.

"It was much different than any coach I’d been around prior, and really confirmed what I was doing to myself. I was like, this is how I envision myself operating, and obviously it works, and you can have success doing it."

It is no surprise that Harbaugh is just coming off of his 16th season as head coach of the Ravens. The results on the field as of late have garnered much outside criticism, but one can not overlook the steadiness and stout leadership that he continues to bring to Baltimore.

Many NFL teams sure would like to have a head coach like Harbaugh leading the way.
