Safety Roderick Rogers became the Patriots' newest acquisition on Tuesday, not a surprising move given Belichick's propensity for bargain basement bodies for practice squad and special teams assignments.
Rogers was released by Minnesota in June, after spending the last month of the 2008 season on the Vikings practice squad.
His introduction to the NFL came via Denver, who picked him up as a rookie free agent in 2007. He spent most of that season on the Broncos practice squad before making the team for the final two games.
At the start of last season, Rogers again found himself on the Denver practice squad, and was assigned to the 53-man roster for the last three games of the season.
The highlight of his professional career to date has been his lone start, in week twelve, against Oakland last year. He had five tackles, including two on special teams.
The former Wisconsin Badger was waived two days after that start and later signed by Minnesota.
