Found September 10, 2013 on Football and Futbol:
In a shortened week many doubt the New England Patriots chances against the New York Jets, and rightly so. The Patriots were awful on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. But what people are failing to mention is that the Patriots still led the Bills in almost every statistical category. In the end New England shot itself in the foot and those are things that can be corrected.   The Patriots lost the turnover battle on Sunday by giving away three and taking away two.  The only  turnover that should be of  real concern is Stevan Ridley’s fumble. Ridley has had some trouble holding on to the ball, but after being benched for the rest of the game after losing the ball, you can be sure that he now knows his job depends on him maintaining possession. Brady’s interception was a missed play by rookie Zach Sudfeld. Sudfeld attempted to make an athletic catch on a not so great throw by Brady and tipped it right into the defenders hands. If Sudfeld lets the ball go by it’s a low throw that goes for an incompletion. Brady’s fumbling of the snap on the goal line was a rare occurrence, like a Haley’s Comet of the NFL. That type of mental mistake is very uncharacteristic of Brady and is unlikely to happen again for at least another couple of seasons. Good teams get ugly wins. New England may not be the dominant team it has been for the past decade or so, but they can still find ways to win and will only get better as the season progresses.  It’s still very early in the NFL season so as Bill Belichick said after the game, “We had our moments, there were times when it was good; times when it wasn’t so good and needs to be better. But we’ll build on this.”

New England Patriots Week 2: Preview, prediction

After Sunday’s game against Buffalo, I knew that the reaction would be negative overall, even with it being a win. That was certainly my reaction. But in my haste to ignore any icky feeling, I was convinced that all of this mad juju would blow over, and that the New England Patriots were going to improve inevitably. I was convinced that by the time I wrote this preview, confidence...

LeGarrette Blount not a great fantasy pickup despite Vereen injury

LeGarrette Blount was one of the hot names being thrown around in fantasy football discussions as soon as it was announced that Shane Vereen would be out until Week 11. Vereen replaced Stevan Ridley in the second quarter of the New England Patriots’ win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday after Ridley lost a fumble […]

Fantasy Football 2013: Why Patriots WR Julian Edelman is a Must Start in Week 2

There was never a question about the talent of the New England Patriots' wide receiver Danny Amendola, injuries have always been his issue – and after an impressive debut with 10 catches for over 100 yards and already the injury bug is hitting the high profile free agent signee as he tries to replace the venerable Wes Welker. It has already been all but confirmed that Amendola...

Zach Sudfeld pulls hamstring, doubtful for Thursday's game

Patriots undrafted rookie tight end Zach Sudfeld built up a lot of well deserved hype in preseason. However, the tight end has not done well recently. The last two passes Tom Brady has attempted to throw at him have turned into takeaways. Furthering Sudfeld's problems, he now has a pulled hamstring. To further brighten your day, I'm told Zach Sudfeld pulled a hamstring...

Julian Edelman Proving to Be Reliable Option for Patriots, Which Tom Brady Will Need Against Jets

It seemed there were only three players that Tom Brady could count on against the Bills on Sunday. One of them was Julian Edelman. For much of Edelman’s young career, the college quarterback turned receiver couldn’t seem to get out of his own way. The potential and talent were there, but the production never seemed to sync up with the enormous hype that preceded him. After first...

Patriots’ Pass Rush Not As Bad As Stats Indicate Among Five Takeaways From Week 1 Bills Game

The Patriots’ 23-21 win over the Bills certainly was not pretty. And Buffalo was not exactly the most difficult Week 1 opponent, but there were still some positives to take away from the last-second victory. The impressive performances from Danny Amendola, Shane Vereen and Kyle Arrington were obvious and already noted. The Patriots could not have won without Amendola and Vereen...

Our pals at lolpats posted this and called it a “Game of Thrones”-esque Patriots banner so I’m going to use this opportunity to drop a little GOT here on the blog. "Winter is Coming" That is the most important quote from GOT, and while all the different factions are fighting it out to control Westeros, the real problem is coming with winter from a bunch of undead...

Patriots Pulse:This Sign Says Tom Brady Sits When He Pees Then He Pissed On The Bills Again(PHOTO)

(PHOTO: Instagram) Buffalo Bills fans are pretty original how they razz the opposition. If you are perennial LOSERS, you have nothing better to do. You had the tools dressed in prison jumpsuits that said “Hernandez 81″ on the back. Then you have this sign that said “Tom Brady Sits When He Pees”. So all Tom Brady did was lead another game winning drive and pissed all over...
