The comparisons were simply inevitable. T.J. Moe is a slot receiver out of the University of Missouri. He is small, white, not blazingly fast, but extremely quick, and very tough. Then he goes undrafted and signs with the New England Patriots, this is the easiest comparison of all time, T.J. Moe is in the mold of Wes Welker.
Normally, I hate making those kind of comparisons. Just because the guy plays in the slot and is white does not make him Wes Welker. But when you watch this guy play, you cannot help but make that comparison. Moe probably fell in the draft because of his lack of straight line speed. He ran a 4.74 40 at the combine, which was the worst out of all of the Wide Receivers. That being said, Moe has elite quickness and change of direction speed. he ran a 6.53-second 3-cone drill, a 3.96-second short shuttle time, and 10.87-second 60-yard shuttle drill. All three were the best among Wide Receivers.
Tom Brady is famous for using his slot...

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports believes that free agent defensive end John Abraham would be a good fit for the New England Patriots.
He made his tour of visits, and he’s been pretty firm with his asking price, but this still leaps out as a Bill Belichick move to me. He is always collecting veteran edge players who can add situational help, and the Pats are always in the hunt....
The New England Patriots released five players Monday, including defensive back Malcolm Williams. Williams, 24, was a seventh-round draft pick in 2011. He has rotated between the 53-man roster and the practice squad over the past two seasons. He played in four regular-season NFL games and three postseason games. He had two special teams tackles in two games last season. The Patriots...
According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston, the New England Patriots have cut wide receiver Jeremy Ebert.
Ebert could be mistaken for Wes Welker on the field; his size and frame have a similar look.
Maybe off it also, as he’s heading out of town to make room for receivers Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce. Reiss writes:
‘Ebert didn’t make the Patriots out of training camp last season...
New England Patriots 2013 pump up (by Jonah Nielsen)
The Patriots were successful in their attempt to move running back/return man Jeff Demps after the Olympic Sprinter announced that his devotion to Track & Field would limit his time on the gridiron. In addition to Demps' open devotion to track, the Pats signed Pro Bowl return specialist Leon Washington this offseason as well.
So the need to keep Demps quickly spiraled...

Getting drafted in the seventh round isn't exactly the greatest thing for players. Sure, it's great to say that you were drafted, but it's very rare that seventh rounders stick around. At least as an undrafted free agent you can chose a team where you might have a chance to compete.
Just look at one of the Patriots seventh round picks last year, Jeremy Ebert, he'...
In the third round of the draft, the Patriots selected a cornerback (Logan Ryan) and a safety (Duron Harmon) to help in the depth department. The Patriots resigned Talib this offseason and brought in Adrian Wilson, but let me tell you why the Patriots needed to bring in some talent at these positions.
Adrian Wilson is making back-up type numbers (showing what the market set his...
On Monday the Jets cut ties with embattled quarterback Tim Tebow after only one season. No one picked him up on Waivers Tuesday, and now he’s officially a free agent. The Jets made a big mistake by picking him up because they had no idea how to use him, and now they are still paying [...]The post Why Tim Tebow fits perfectly with the New England Patriots appeared first on Punch Drunk Wonderland.
The New England Patriots prepared for the upcoming season in the usual way; by going for quantity in signings, in the expectation that they will end up with the quality they seek.In truth, the Patriots have had some notable successes in the free agent market. The draft, this year, seemed to run heavily in favor of defensive players. While the Patriots' latest free agent list may...
There are many things you can say about Patriots head coach (and general manager) Bill Belichick, but when it comes to drafting, conservative is not one of them.
It may appear that way when the Patriots are constantly trading down because it allows them to take more players, but typically the players they do draft are raw and let their workout numbers stand out just as much as their...
