Week 6 NFC West Matchups + Previews PATRIOTS vs. SEAHAWKS (Oct 14 4:05 PM ET) Russell Wilson had over 200 passing yards for the first time in his career in Seattle’s (3-2) last game and he may have to go to the air in this game. Marshawn Lynch is the big gun for the Seahawks on offense, but he will be facing a solid New England run defense while their pass defense is one of the worst in the league. The Seattle defense ranks in the top 5 defending the pass and the run and they have a major task facing Tom Brady and the Pats’ offense that is on fire and has scored 83 points in their last 2 games. The Seahawks have faced a couple teams with good passing offenses in the Cowboys and the Packers, but can they keep Brady from lighting up the scoreboard? I think nobody can stop Brady and company with how their offense is playing right now and they will win this non-conference game sadly to say. Patriots by 10+

NFC power rankings as of week 5, Part I

Focusing on the two teams rounding out the bottom of the NFC west power rankings, it becomes aware that one is at a make it or break stage of the season, and the other is strong enough to lead the division. Where their destinies take them is uncertain yet, but it’s certainly a crossroads week for them. With season altering injuries and brutally tough schedules ahead, it’s anyone’s...

Tom Brady Chucks Two Interceptions in Loss To Seattle

New England QB Tom Brady threw a season-high two interceptions and turned in his lowest QB rating of the year Sunday in a one-point loss to the Seahawks.Fantasy Spin:Despite the uneven performance, Brady still managed to throw for 300 yards passing, the fourth time he's been able to accomplish that in his last five starts.

New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks: Three Bold Predictions

Bold Prediction No. 1:New England quarterback Tom Brady has spoken with his dermatologist and was advised by Dr. Maakpretti that the cool, moist Seattle air is good for his dry skin. Therefore, Tom Terrific will not be wearing make-up during the game, but he will find Welker, Hernandez and "Gronk" in the end-zone - three passing TD's against a very strong Seattle pass...

The Seattle Seahawks can do what the Giants defense does

Here's one of the more interesting story lines for this game. I've already said that this Seattle game will be the biggest test for this Patriots offense. It's the best measuring stick we'll have for if this offense is really balanced or not. I can't wait to see how the Patriots can handle this Seahawks defense in a hostile environment. It's not only because...

Interview with SeahawkAddict Scott

I had a chance to interview Scott Robb (Twitter: @RealScottRobb), a content writer at SeahawkAddicts (the Seahawks blog on Bloguin).   Raj Vaidya: You were at the game against Carolina last week. While you did enjoy the win, what did you learn from the game and who impressed/disappointed you?                Scott Robb: I was most impressed with the way the...

FIVE & FIVE: THE BIGGEST SURPRISES/DISAPPOINTMENTS FROM SUNDAY

We wrap up the sixth Sunday of the NFL season by looking at a handful of players who exceeded expectations and a handful who failed to deliver. Surprises Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks: It's not as though expectations weren't at a relatively high level for Wilson, who's had a decent start to his career. But few expected him to perform like that against the Patriots...

Seattle's late rally stuns Patriots 24-23

In the midst of watching his team rally with 14 points in the final 71/2 minutes, Seattle coach Pete Carroll forgot about his history as a one-time coach of the New England Patriots. He was too busy celebrating Seattle's unlikely comeback and a starring performance by rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. "That's funny that you even bring that up. I hadn't even thought...

Take that Brady, Seattle corner says we’re better

There are many reasons not to like Tom Brady, so many that I don’t feel like writing the novel on it.He’s a competitive guy and that showed against the Seattle Seahawks as he was obviously frustrated at times cursing himself after he threw his two interceptions on the day.The Seahawks wanted to make sure they rubbed it in a little after the game on Sunday when cornerback Richard...

Pats 17, Seahawks 10 at the half

The Patriots lead the Seahawks 17-10 at halftime in Seattle. But New England left points on the board in the first half. An intentional grounding by Tom Brady with 1 second left in the half led to a 10-second run off, which ended the quarter. The Pats could've extended the lead to 20-10 with a Stephen Gostkowski field goal attempt.Aaron Hernandez and Wes Welker each have touchdown...

Fantasy Football Week 6 Preview: Patriots at Seahawks

New England Patriots @ Seattle SeahawksNew England:  The Patriots come off an impressive ripping of Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, and now fly across the country to take on the most formidable defense they’ve faced yet.  If there’s any QB in the league that can actually score good points against the Seahawks defense in Seattle, it’s Tom...

Rise of Patriots’ Running Game Cuts Into Passing Numbers

Through five games, the New England Patriots led the league in points per game with 33.0 and yards per game at 439.4.  But the way New England gained those yards was different than in recent years. The Patriots were ninth in passing yardage with 274.0 yards per game, down from second in 2011 with 317.8 yards per game. But the Patriots were third in rushing yardage with 165.4 yards...

Running to daylight still important in NFL

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By BARRY WILNER AP Pro Football Writer Vince Lombardi, not to mention Woody Hayes, would love what the 49ers, Patriots, Texans, Chiefs and Giants have been doing recently. It might be longer than three yards and a cloud of dust, but those teams have run to daylight enough to make the ground game viable in the NFL again. Only Kansas City has been losing among...
