Yesterday, the Dolphins admitted that the leaked logo we shared with you was legit. They’ve even gone so far as change the logo on the team’s official website and auctioned off a t-shirt last night with the new logo to one of their Fin Club members. So the Dolphins may not be happy about the leak, but they are doing their best to embrace it. Mike Dee, the Dolphins CEO confirmed yesterday that the initial leak of the logo was courtesy of someone at Nike.

There are still some surprises the Dolphins are holding onto until the big unveiling on April 25th. For example, the Dolphins are not confirming what the Dolphins new helmet or uniforms will look like. Also, the team’s script name will also have a new look, but we haven’t seen any leaks on that yet. Above is a mockup that was done by Lisa Johnson (@LJ1303) to show how the Dolphins logo might look, knowing what we know (i.e. white facemask, etc.). It’s going to take some time to get used to the logo, but I like the clean look of the helmet!
For those of you that like the uniform talk, we also hear that the Dolphins home uniforms will be VERY white on white. The players prefer to wear as much white as possible during the heat of South Florida afternoons. Again, we’ll see what the new uniforms look like on April 25th (which is also the first day of the draft).
In other news, numerous reports indicate that the Dolphins have signed DT Vaughn Martin, formerly of the San Diego Chargers. Martin played some DE in San Diego last year. He is not a big name, but he is expected to take the place of Tony McDaniel, who the Dolphins did not resign. Martin will compete for a roster spot as the backup/rotational player behind Paul Soliai and Randy Starks. Armando Salguero said on Twitter that the Dolphins view Martin as an upgrade to Tony McDaniel. We’ll see…..
