The New York Giants made a deadly offense even better in this year’s draft. Teams are going to have a hard time stopping the Giants in 2012. Eli Manning threw nearly 5,000 yards behind a banged offensive line and no running game last year. Despite how the media has praised Manningham, he wasn’t a scary receiver. Manningham only contributed to 523 yards of Eli Mannings near 5,000 yards passing. Nicks and Cruz, however; combined for nearly 2800 yards. The Giants had a great draft and I can’t wait to see how round 3-7 pan out.  Here is the impact from the first two rounds and how they impact our squad: Why David Wilson was a great pick up RB David Wilson 5’10 205 lbs The Positives Wilson has a ton of upside potential and fills a huge hole for the Giants. Jerry Reese never drafts for need, so he saw something in this kid that was more than he had seen in Fleener, and that’s says a lot. Wilson has the kind of pass catching abilities to really compliment the Giants pass heavy offen...

Giants Stick To Their Plan

The Super Bowl Champion New York Giants have a long tradition with regards to the NFL Draft. Essentially, almost without exception, they methodically grade the available players—and simply take the best one available. Sure they consider need. But almost always they just take the best football player available to them. They seem to have done so again. In round one they selected...

Giants Steal Rueben Randle

The New York Giants snatched wide receiver Rueben Randle from the board with the No. 63 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Fantasy Spin: This will go down as being one of the biggest steals of the Draft, and some experts even believe that Randle is the most physically-gifted receiver in the class. He could develop into a No. 1 fantasy receiver, but not in New York with studs Hakeem Nicks...

Osi Umenyiora says Giants making him look like a ‘greedy pig’ during negotiations

The situation between Osi Umenyiora and the Giants seems to get uglier by the day. With the depth the Giants have along their Super Bowl-winning front seven, they aren’t in a position where they have to overpay for a player like Umenyiora. In fact, they don’t necessarily have to even pay full value for someone like him. That has created a lot of tension between Osi and the front...

Giants could still trade Osi Umenyiora

Now that the NFL draft has come and gone, defensive end Osi Umenyiora, the New York Giants once again didn’t trade him.  It sounds as if they were open to trading Osi during the draft. “All options are open with respect to that,” general manager Jerry Reese said when asked if any deals had been discussed, per Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.  “Our first choice...

Osi Umenyiora claims Jerry Reese is making him look like a “greedy pig”

Now that we’re about three months into another NFL offseason, it looks like another war between New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and general manager Jerry Reese is brewing in the swamps of New Jersey. Yesterday, during the Giants’ post-draft press conference, Reese claimed that he offered Umenyiora a contract extension last year as well as this offseason and that...

NY Giants Day 3 Draft Selections

Day 3 of the NFL 2012 Draft is officially over.  Now teams are busy as we read and write, scrambling to lock up UFAs that were not drafted.  It is Day 3 when you can really make your draft, contrary to all of the media hype of Day 1.  Yes, in Day 1 you are talking about much higher probabilities for these players being in the NFL for multiple seasons.  Day 3 picks and UFAs can...

New York Giants 2012 Draft Grade: Randle Headlines Great Class

The New York Giants' draft was solid, albeit not without its mistakes. Though if I've learned anything over the years, it's that Giants GM Jerry Reese knows a lot more than I do when it comes to the NFL Draft. In Jerry I trust.   David Wilson (32 overall) - RB, Virginia Tech: When the Bucs stole Boise State RB Doug Martin by trading for the 31st pick (Note: Reese...

Giants Sign 9 Undrafted Prospects

The New York’s Giants have signed 9 undrafted free agents just one day after the NFL Draft has ended. Signing undrafted free agents is customary at the conclusion of the draft, but this doesn’t mean the Giants are done searching for talent to improve the team. In recent years, the Giants have had success signing undrafted prospects such as Victor Cruz, Jake Ballard and Henry...

Redskins sign free agent linebacker Jonathan Goff

The Washington Redskins have signed free agent linebacker Jonathan Goff, who played three seasons with the New York Giants before missing last year with a knee injury. Goff was a fifth-round selection by the Giants in 2008. He became a full-time starter in 2010, but he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee shortly before the season opener a year ago and was placed...

Rivers aids friend after night on town

Giants linebacker Keith Rivers carried a sick female friend out of New York City's Roosevelt Hospital after he spent a night clubbing with Miami Dolphins star Reggie Bush. Rivers arrived in New York with a bang after being traded to the Giants from the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago. But a sober-looking Rivers arrived at Roosevelt Hospital's emergency room at 9:30am local...

According to Adam Caplan of TheSidelineView.com, the Oakland Raiders are bringing veteran quarterback Jim Sorgi for a work out on Tuesday. Sorgi last played for the New York Giants in the preseason of 2010 before he suffered a season ending shoulder injury.  He’s been out of the league ever since then. Before his brief stint with the Giants he backed up Peyton Manning with the...
