New York Giants 2024 Schedule leak features a front loaded primetime schedule against rivals and top defenses
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants apparently had their entire 2024 NFL Schedule leaked several hours ahead of the league's official release on Wednesday, thanks to the New York Post. While the opponents were already known, the exact week-by-week order with primetime schedule information had yet to be revealed.

Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team shared the full leaked schedule in a succinct order highlighting the front loaded primetime schedule for the Giants this fall (in his post below). The betting markets expect the Giants to win just six or seven games on the season, so it seems the NFL is trying to take early advantage of the large New York sports market interest before the writing on the wall becomes clear later in the year.

The Giants 2024 primetime schedule

Based on the schedule leak from Wednesday afternoon the Giants full primetime (and international) schedule for 2024 is as follows:

  • Week 4 - Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football
  • Week 6 - Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football
  • Week 8 - Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football
  • Week 10 - Carolina Panthers in Munich, Germany
  • Week 13 - Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day

The Giants have a really tough primetime schedule. The Panthers shouldn't be favored in Germany (current betting consensus sits at NYG -1.5), and that's not really "primetime" given that it's early on a Sunday morning. However, the rest of the true primetime schedule will be grueling for New York this year.

Both the Steelers and Cowboys defenses ranked top six in defensive points allowed, and play success rate allowed in 2023. All three of the Bengals, Cowboys and Steelers ranked top 12 in turnover rate, QB knockdown rate on pass rushes, and feature multiple elite edge defenders who can get after the passer too.

Given the Giants' struggles last year passing the ball and avoiding sacks (especially with Daniel Jones at quarterback) the primetime games may get ugly quickly. Daniel Jones threw just two touchdowns to six interceptions and took 30 sacks in the six games he appeared in last fall.

Hopefully new first round pick wide receiver Malik Nabers and the additions along the offensive line this spring via free agency will be enough to make a big difference in the Giants offense. And perhaps Daniel Jones actually bounces back and looks more like the 2022 version of himself that showed so much promise in Brian Daboll's first season as the head coach. If not, the NFL might end up regretting even their early season primetime selections for the Giants.
