TEAMS: Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants
The Atlanta Falcons had a day to forget yesterday. They scored only on a Eli Manning safety when he grounded the ball in the end zone. The offense did next to nothing against the Giants’ D. Matt Ryan completed 24 of 41 passes for 199 yards without a TD pass or INT. Michael Turner led the way for the Falcons in the running game with 41 yards on 15 carries (2.7 ypc). WR Julio Jones (7 rec, 64 yards), WR Roddy White (5 rec, 52 yards) and TE Tony Gonzalez (4 rec, 44 yards) led the way for the Falcons in the passing game. The Falcons finished up with 64 yards rushing on 21 carries (3.0 ypc) and they also completed 24 of 41 passes (58.5%) for 183 yards as they had possession of the ball for 25:26.
The defense was pretty awful as the Giants’ offense abused them yesterday. LBs Curtis Lofton (12 tackles) and Sean Weatherspoon (12 tackles and 2 QB hits) led the way for the Falcons on D in this game. Safety Thomas DeCoud pitched in with 9 tackles and 2 tackles for a loss in...

Manning, G-Men punish hapless Falcons
Even Eli Manning's feet are dangerous.
Manning punctuated his best pro season Sunday by throwing for three touchdowns and scrambling for a 14-yard gain that woke up New York's offense. Falcons’ Offense Shutout by Giants? That’s Mularkey!
Sure the New York Giants have a pretty good defense but there is no way the Atlanta Falcons should have been shutout during their Wild Card playoff game against the Giants with all of the offensive weapons they possess. Seriously, if the Denver Broncos’ offensive coordinator could take the league’s 27th ranked passer and put up 30 points of offense against the Pittsburgh Steelers’...
Giants-Falcons At The Half: Wake Me Up When The Game Starts
So far, Eli Manning is responsible for all nine points on the scoreboard. His ill-advised sprint backward into his own end zone and pass to nowhere while escaping the Falcons' pass rush opened the scoring, giving the Falcons a 2-0 lead. Then, after grinding out a long drive including a critical make on fourth and inches, Eli found Hakeem Nicks in the end zone for the go-ahead...
Eli Has a “Quiet” Day: Only Three TD Passes
Are we just getting used to Eli Manning being a playmaker? Are we taking him for granted these days? Perhaps. His name didn’t get mentioned much after yesterday’s game, but yet he was the straw that stirred the drink again. Three TD passes and 14-yard run to keep a drive alive.
As usual, he didn’t play up his performance with the media, choosing to credit his...

The defense is in top form. Eli Manning is making big plays. And the running game has found its legs. The Giants are ready for their visit to Green Bay. Consider this a warning, Packers, Clark Judge says.

Packer Hand Wringing
This is how I will be until the Packers win the Super Bowl or poop all over the Lambeau Turf.
Ok Losers, Packer Fans and friends. Help us out here. Members of the Losers Bracket staff are in full Packer Playoff Hand Wringing Mode (PPHWM). We are having visions of the Packers’ magical ride end to the G-Men. Maybe it is our not so distant memories of 2007 and the bed wetting...
