The New York Giants are making a concerted effort to get younger this season and continued with yet another player move on Thursday. This week, the Giants have released three veteran players. LB Michael Boley, RB Ahmad Bradshaw and DT Chris Canty all were let go this week. On Thursday, another veteran player learned his future with the team is over. DE Osi Umenyiora’s contract was voided and the defensive end is now headed to the free agent market.
Jenny Vrentas announced the move on Twitter. “Technicality, but Osi Umenyiora’s ’13 year of contract voids if on roster 5th day after Super Bowl, i.e. 4:01 pm today.”
Umenyiora will likely not return to the Giants as a free agent. He has stated that he wants to be an every down player, not a situational pass rusher. His production has dropped off and he turns 32 during the 2013 season, but he should get plenty of attention on the free agent market.

I get into a bad mood every time I hear this guy's name. However, if you can not beat them, join them. Or pay them enough to join you. The Patriots obviously have struggled on defense to get pressure on the quarterback and keep good coverage on the opposing wide receivers, thus they make quarterbacks like Mark Sanchez look like superstars. Chandler Jones provided a small spark...
