On our last day of looking back through this past decade of Giants’ drafts we get to the 2013 draft. Obliviously, we still don’t know how this draft has turned out since all these players just finished their rookie year, but many of the players look promising. Five of the seven players had a significant amount of playing time last year. 2013 Giants’ Draft Picks Round Pick Name Position School 1 19 Justin Pugh Offensive Tackle Syracuse 2 49 Johnathan Hankins Defensive Tackle Ohio State 3 81 Damontre Moore Defensive End Texas A&M 4 110 Ryan Nassib Quarterback Syracuse 5 152 Cooper Taylor Safety Richmond 7 225 Eric Herman Offensive Line Ohio 7 253 Michael Cox Running Back Massachusetts   Justin Pugh Justin Pugh was a very important and valuable draft pick. In his rookie season, Pugh started all 16 games and was an anchor at right tackle. He was a bright spot on a Giants’ offensive line that is very old and was constantly injured. The future looks bright for Justin Pugh and he should only get better. Johnathan Hankins As a rookie, Hankins played a limited role in 11 games. Hankins also showed promising signs for the future at the defensive tackle position. He had 16 total tackles last year. Damontre Moore The Giants got a steal in the third round when they drafted Damontre Moore. Moore was originally projected as a top-10 pick but because of a poor combine, he slid down on many draft boards. Moore played in 15 games last year, totaling 11 tackles. Moore also showed his athleticism by blocking punts during the Steelers preseason game and during week 10 against the Oakland Raiders. Ryan Nassib Nassib was considered on some draft boards a top-10 pick and on others not going until the later rounds. The Giants’ were very excited to draft Nassib but he was inactive all 16 games last year as Eli Manning’s third-string backup. Cooper Taylor Cooper played in 10 games last year with the Giants while recording four tackles. Taylor also scored a special teams touchdown during the Raiders game after Damontre Moore blocked a punt. Taylor was placed on injured reserve in December with a hamstring injury. Eric Herman Herman played on the Giants practice squad until late in the season. He signed onto the 53-man roster after Cooper Taylor was placed on IR. Michael Cox Cox showed promising signs at running back while everyone was getting injured around him. He earned one start last year and played in 14 games.
