In the 2011 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Marvin Austin in the second round (#50). Many expected the 6’2, 312-pound defensive tackle to go mid-to-late in the 1stround, despite missing the entire season due to a suspension for engaging in improper contact with an agent. Austin participated in the NFL Combine and impressed many teams even more with the following stats: (4.84 40-yard dash/38 reps on the Bench press/30.5 vertical leap/112.0 broad jump). GM Reese, at the time of the Draft, stated that Austin could be a steal if he puts his past behind him. He's had other problems with the law as well; but Reese said they've done their homework on him and couldn't pass him up, even if it meant ignoring their need at center to add to an already crowded situation along the interior line. "He's going to come here with a chip on his shoulder," GM Jerry Reese said and added, "an explosive three-technique gap charger. This guy can get off the ball ...

Eli Manning kills it with Little Brothers sketch on ‘Saturday Night Live’ (Video)

Eli Manning hosted “Saturday Night Live” and put together an impressive performance on Saturday. His Little Brothers sketch (seen above), was probably the highlight of the program. Similar to older brother Peyton’s United Way sketch, this one featured Eli working with young kids. Eli, who was picked on by his brothers growing up, started a club to protect little brothers from...

Video: Eli Manning’s SNL Sketch “Little Brothers” a Huge Winner

Eli Manning hosted Saturday Night Live this week. I did not watch it, but from various Twitter reports I saw it sounds like the consensus is that the first half of the show was great, but that the second half was not so great. This seems to be about par for the course with SNL these days. The reviews for Eli’s individual performance all seemed to be relatively positive. And as...

Quarterbacks We’d Like To See On SNL

Eli Manning hosted Saturday Night Live last night, and hey–he did a pretty good job.  Yeah, he had some of the best writers in television crafting his jokes, but ol’ Eli added a personal touch.  Like brother Peyton and Tom Brady before him, SNL extended the offer to host after Eli and the Giants won the Super Bowl.  How cool is that? I wanna win the Super Bowl too, but not...

So what if he and the Giants snatched two Super Bowl rings from our Patriots, we just can't hate the guy for some reason. Eli did a great job last night on SNL. The skit of the night was this... var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});

NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson, mentor to Junior Seau, makes head trauma a priority

NFL football great, Harry Carson, and Meridian Neuroscience spokesperson, made a surprise visit Thursday to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. With a charismatic style all his own, the former New York Giants team captain visited stroke patients and popped in on Edison native Ken Kramer in his hospital room. The 54-year-old-fitness enthusiast suffered a subarachnoid...
