An Opening loss may be a good thing.Don’t panic Giants’ fans. The 24-hour sports cycle washed, rinsed and dried the Giants-Cowboys game many times. While it was the first loss by a defending Super Bowl champion in their opening game in many seasons (Denver in the 1999 opener -- also the first game without Elway) let’s not forget two things:1. A Super Bowl champ was bound to lose eventually. Green Bay came mighty close last year and others have in recent seasons.2. The Giants treat their home games with near hostility. Since the start of the 2007 season they have won two Super Bowls but their home record is an astounding 23 wins and 18 losses. Giants fans pay thousands for season tickets. They might be better off unloading those to visiting fans and going to all away games. The old cliché of “it’s only one game” applies here and should be repeated like a mantra by Giants’ fans. A quick look at recent defending champions’ opening games offers little illumination on the next 15 games ...

New York Giants' Tom Coughlin to His Players: "Take a Bite out of Humble Pie"
The New York Giants went from winning six games in a row on their road to a Super Bowl Championship, to opening the new season with a loss at home to the division rival Dallas Cowboys. Such a loss is certain to kill the high the players were feeling from last season and bring them to the reality of a new season. Coach Coughlin let his players hear it in the locker room after the...

Juan Man’s View: Martellus Bennett
I do look like a unicorn Juan…
The Black Unicorn has arrived. The Giants were lacking a TE this season when Jake Ballard was put on waivers and swooped up by the TE whores in New England. The Giants backfired with Ballard, but may have found gold with Bennett.
Eli Manning has not had a athletic TE since Shockey was traded to New Orleans. He has possibly found his man. ...
Giants need to get act together after dismal start
The Super Bowl champion New York Giants aren't dealing with a loss of confidence after getting drubbed by the Dallas Cowboys in the kickoff to the NFL season, just a newfound sense of urgency.
For the most part, the mistakes the Giants made in the 24-17 loss Wednesday night were correctable.
What concerned Tom Coughlin was his players' approach. They didn't practice...
David Wilson Gets Emotional on Giants' Sideline After Fumbling Second Career NFL Carry (Video)
David Wilson was taken out of Wednesday's game against the Cowboys about as quick as he was put in. Wilson, selected by the G-Men in the first round of this year's draft, fumbled on just the second carry of his NFL career, forcing head coach Tom Coughlin to bench the Virginia Tech product for the remainder of Wednesday's season opener. The benching wasn't all that...

So Why Couldn’t Eli Manning & His N.Y. Giants Beat The Cowboys?
Eli Manning looked pretty good when his Giants took on the Dallas Cowboys. Manning went 21/32 for 213 yards and only 1 touchdown, not the typical Eli Manning type of game, but hey it is the season opener. It is clear the New York Giants have a few bugs to work out. The Cowboys defense was able to get to Manning for 3 sacks. While the Giants rushing game looked just OK, the team needs...
Drop it like it’s hot: No excuses for Victor Cruz
Giants receiver Victor Cruz caught six passes in Wednesday night’s loss to the Cowboys, but he also dropped three passes, and after the game he acknowledged that his own poor play was one of the reasons the defending Super Bowl champions lost their opener. “There’s no excuses for me,” Cruz said. “I have to catch those footballs.” [...]
NY Giants David Wilson Crying After Fumble – Video
TweetNew York Giants rookie RB David Wilson crying after a fumble during season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
Apparently there is no crying in baseball but there is in football. Wilson is a very good athlete with a lot of potential but had a fumble filled college career, 1 fumble for every 48 carries. I kid this young man with the Tom Hanks line from "League of Their Own...
New York Giants: Defending Super Bowl Champs Prove Defenseless
As an avid Eagles fan, I usually watch these Giants vs. Cowboys games with nonchalance hoping everybody sucks, but this game was different -- I was looking for a hero amongst a den of enemies. Not an easy feat for a Philadelphia fan, but mission accomplished. Between DeMarcus Ware's 100th and 101st sacks, and the Dallas defense practically shutting down the Giants' run...

Video: The NFL and The Boys Are Back
The NFL is back! It’s an amazing feeling to know that there will be football to watch on every Sunday, Monday and Thursday for the next 4+ months. The NFL season kicked off last night with the Dallas Cowboys traveling to East Rutherford, New Jersey to take on the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants and neither team disappointed. It was a thrilling game from start to finish...
Queen Latifah Wears Wrong Manning Jersey!
The Giants fans were crowd pleasing and faithful to the spirit of the song but didn’t love the repeated “home of the brave” calls at the end. That sounded like a skipping record.
Whether you liked it or not, one thing on which we can agree: the bedazzled No. 18 jersey was sort of weird. The last New York Giants player to wear that number was backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels...
