New York Giants just received some good news. Once a hope that may become reality, DT Shaun Rodgers may be able to play this year. Rodgers has a blood clot in his leg that everyone thought he was lost for the year. This is good news to Giant’s fans and of course head coach Tom Coughlin likes the idea of him coming back too.

“There’s a ray of hope,” Coughlin said. “There is a chance that he could come back and play. That’s what we’ve been told. We’re just going to hang in there as long as we can and see if they can determine where he is and how fast that he would be able to play.”Coughlin added, “He is on a different kind of medication, and that medication is supposedly something that can be dealt with after a certain amount of time. Whether it’s five, six weeks, whatever, I’m not sure.”

The idea of signing Rodgers was to strength up the defense. He was slimmed down this year and was ready to make an impact. It seems like Rodgers has had many bad breaks in his career since it started in Detroit. He was coming into a great situation with the defending Super Bowl champions, and he was ready to make an impact.

Now the impact may have to just wait a bit.

By: Trisity Miller             Some time ago my fellow writer Michael Samuels II wrote about how the New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is neither an elite quarterback nor is he a Hall of Fame quarterback.
