The Jets have their work cut out for them if they want to make it back to the playoffs in 2012.
The New York Jets had high hopes for the 2012 season but unfortunately, things do not always go as planned. In the Jets case, they went from being a supposed Super Bowl contender at the start of last season to an 8-8 finish and a lot of questions that need answering.
Chief among the questions facing the Jets in 2012 is the quarterback situation. Currently, the team is going with former first-rounder Mark Sanchez, who the team tabbed to be its face of the franchise back in 2009.
Early on the experiment worked, as the Jets built a team that did not have to rely on Sanchez to win games and using a formula that relied heavily on strong defense and a power running game, the Jets made consecutive appearances in the AFC championship, losing to Indianapolis in 2009 and Pittsburgh in 2010.
