The N.Y. Jets might be losing faith in current quarterback Mark Sanchez, because the team is considering the possibility of picking up free-agent Jason Campbell, according to ESPN New York.

Remember that Campbell, who started for the Oakland Raiders during the 2011-2012 NFL season, for six games, produced a 4-2 record before receiving an season ending injury, during a game against the Cleveland Browns.
Many believe that the Raiders would have made the playoffs had Campbell not received the injury.
One of N.Y. Jets head coach Rex Ryan's coaches -- former Raiders wide receiver coach Sanjay Lal worked with Campbell while with the Raiders. Also, new O.C. Tony Sparano is planning to incorporate some Raiders concepts into his playbook in New York.
There's one issue however, as the feeling is that Campbell may need to practice his reps to be effective. Also, there'e concern he wouldn't do well in the No. 2 QB role, because of the paucity of reps.
Campbell in the past has said that he wanted to be a starter in the NFL -- a claim he made after the Raiders threw him into the trash after his injury and traded for former Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer.

Report: Jets have interest in Campbell

Although Rex Ryan insists he is sticking with Mark Sanchez, the Jets are reportedly interested in signing Jason Campbell as a backup quarterback. His presence could put pressure on Sanchez to perform.
