As the New York Jets defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-28 last night, Geno Smith became only the second rookie quarterback ever to win an away game on Monday Night Football. Throughout the game, Smith picked apart the Falcons' depleted defense. Including a two minute drill to set up a last-second field goal for the win.To some, Smith's play came as a surprise. After all, Smith came into the game leading the league with 11 turnovers, and only had five touchdowns. To others, it was just another example of Smith's boom or bust play. So far this season, Smith has shown he has skill to be the Jets' next franchise quarterback. Then there are other times where Smith makes bad mistakes that no quarterback should make. For example, his behind the back fumble. If this, however, were two years ago, these classic rookie mistakes would not be such a big deal. Geno Smith leads Jets to 30-28 Victory in Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia - Matt Ryan doesn't lose at home, and he certainly doesn't lose back-to-back home games. At the very least, a Jets team embarrassed in Tennessee and without top wideout Santonio Holmes wasn't the team to do it. That was the popular thought before the game, but after an impressive and turnover free performance by rookie quarterback Geno Smith, the Jets...

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith hasn’t had an easy road to the NFL

The bar for rookie quarterbacks is at an all time high after the seasons that Robert Griffin III, Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson had last year. This season the New York Jets entered the year being looked at as a joke. The Jets had question marks all over their offense, especially at the quarterback position. Many predicted the Jets would be the worst team in the league at the...

Not a good sign for Geno Smith

Rookie New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has been very impressive so far this season, but this front page headline on New York’s Daily News is eerily similar to the one featuring Mark Sanchez after his debut with the Jets.  Hopefully this is just a coincidence and Smith will continue to develop and finally get that awful Sanchez taste out of the mouths of Jets fans. Smith, Folk lead New York Jets past Falcons 30-28

Geno Smith wasn't flustered. Not after all the mistakes in his first four games. Not after the Atlanta Falcons went ahead on a touchdown with less than 2 minutes remaining. Looking like a wily ol' veteran instead of a rookie, Smith calmly guided the New York Jets to another victory. Smith threw three touchdown passes and directed a drive that set up Nick Folk's 43-yard...

Jets Win! Jets Win! Jets--Wait. What?

This game was not one that too many folks had circled on their calendars as a much watch game. The Jets are still a circus and the Falcons should be able to pass for days on them.
