Dustin Keller has entered each season as a key threat for the New York Jets. The fifth year tight end owns a skill set well suited for the new pass happy NFL. His emergence into elite status among those who play the position unfortunately, is constantly met with roadblocks. Jet signal callers have stunted the growth of Keller. Brett Favre, Keller’s first quarterback in New York, injured his throwing arm down the stretch of 2008. A season that saw the Jets fall from an AFC East leading 8-3, to a playoff-less 9-7. Over the final four games, Keller had just eight catches (of his 48), while amassing only 75 of his 535 yearly yard total during the December swoon. Fourth year starter Mark Sanchez has never been synonymous with accuracy, or big passing days. The Jets decision from the start to “handcuff” him while featuring the run, has tempered any thoughts of a symbiotic rise. Keller has nonetheless, been Sanchez’s favorite target since 2009. The former USC QB finished 30th in yards per ...

Mark sanchez and the New York Jets Will Persist

Not this season T…maybe next year… The New York Jets have become the biggest laughingstock in the NFL. In my opinion, Rex Ryan is the Jets biggest problem. He never shuts his mouth…and is always spouting off some bold prediction that never pans out. Check out Mark and the Jets latest motivational t-shirt. Looks like the inventor of the ass fumble still believes in the Gang...

Turn On The Jets Stock Watch – Angry Rant Edition

It feels like I could just copy and paste parts of this column from the last few weeks and nobody would be able to tell the difference. Week after week it’s becoming the same old stuff when it comes to this Jets team. Too many turnovers, ineffective run game, blowouts, Calvin Pace sucks, Bart Scott sucks, Kyle Wilson is a delusional finger-wagger with an incredibly false sense...

Jets O-line coach not happy with LG rotation

New York Jets offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo says rotating Matt Slauson and Vladimir Ducasse at left guard is ''a directive from high above me.'' Clearly unhappy with that decision, which comes from coach Rex Ryan, DeGuglielmo raves Thursday about Slauson while saying that Ducasse, a second-round pick in 2010, is ''playing well enough to be an every...

Bart Scott Disses Heckling Jets Fans

New York Jets fans are like most fans in NFL stadiums around the league: they are passionate about their team, and use the excuse of being passionate whenever they cross the line. The Jets players were serenaded with boo’s and other profane language as they walked to the locker room at halftime of their humiliating loss to the New England Patriots last Thursday. Jets boisterous...

Thinking Forward: Even Fireman Ed Still Loves Bilal Powell

I don’t blame Fireman Ed for walking away disgustipated with his Jets.  It’s hard to stay upbeat and ready to support your team after such a performance.  By now, we’ve all learned that Mark Sanchez is a big Sir Mix-A-Lot fan with his unholy gravitational pull towards Moore’s backside.  But for fantasy purposes and for nearly as much humor we were treated to another...

Can Craig Carton come up with Another $50k ($100k total) for his Bart Scott Challenge?

Chris Lopresti was taxed with serving NY Jets linebacker Bart Scott with Craig Carton's $50k dodgeball challenge. “Enough is enough with Bart Scott,” Carton said. “Memo to Bart Scott: I will put... Full story at Bob's Blitz ~ http://www.bobsblitz.com

Ryan expects Tebow to be cleared for Sunday's game

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan expects Tim Tebow to be cleared to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Ryan told reporters on Wednesday. That does not necessarily mean Tebow will play, however. "We'll see how he progresses during the week," Ryan told the New York Daily News. "He's limited right now and we'll see, but I guess the answer is &...

Jets Sign WR Mardy Gilyard

The New York Jets signed WR Mardy Gilyard Tuesday evening following a workout, per Mark Garafolo. Following injuries to Clyde Gates (concussion), Chaz Schilens (concussion) and Jeremy Kerley (heel, hamstring), the Jets added depth at wide receiver with a player who can also assume return duties if Kerley is indeed out this week. New York needs impact receivers and the explosive Gilyard...

Chiefs claim OL Hayworth Hicks off waivers

The Chiefs have claimed offensive lineman Hayworth Hicks off waivers. The 6-foot-3, 336-pound Hicks entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Colts in April. He spent time on their practice squad before being acquired by the New York Jets on Nov. 6. He spent three games on their roster but was inactive each week. The former Iowa State standout takes the roster spot...

Thanks to Jets, Cardinals can relate to Jets' second-quarter meltdown

Ken Whisenhunt can sort of relate to how the New York Jets were feeling in their second-quarter, 35-point collapse against the New England Patriots last week. He can thank the Jets for that. The last time the Cardinals head coach faced Gang Green was in 2008, when Brett Favre threw six touchdown passes in a Jets victory. New York scored 34 points in the second quarter of that game...

Here’s A Terrifying Reminder That Athlete Underwear Ads Have Come A Long Way

Earlier this year, there was a considerable deal of buzz around New York Jets backup QB Tim Tebow inking an endorsement deal with the underwear company Jockey, because the world’s most famous virgin doesn’t exactly sound like the perfect candidate for rocking his bulge. But then the ads started flopping out of the fold – like the one above – and we realized that these were...

Rex 'cherishes' first NFL experience with Cardinals

Regardless of what you may think of Rex Ryan as head coach of the New York Jets, the guy has a pretty impressive coaching resume. Ryan went from a graduate assistant at Eastern Kentucky in the late 1980s to one of the best defensive coaches in the game leading the mid-2000 Baltimore Ravens' defense. A few years later, he's the lead guy for New York's green team. But Ryan...
